been to NZ, the North Island has a lot more to offer. Coming from Tx, how have you cope w the blandness of Kiwi food which, IMO, is on a par w British / Aussie food

Interesting topic. For me it's an easy/obvious choice though: Australia, since I'm a US/Aussie dual citizen, and I have a retired uncle there who'd help me settle in and show me the ropes.

If not there, Canada I suppose. I'm used to dealing with cold anyhow.

There is loads of great Thai, Malaysian and Chinese options here and you can still can get reasonable tex-mex and even bbq. It's fine. The seafood and dairy products here are great.

Hmm. If I had to pick a name out of a hat, I'd say Canada at the moment. Followed by maybe Singapore. I'd like countries with decent health care as opposed to our **** show.

Not to get off subject and I don’t know much about Singapore and their healthcare system. I have several friends that are Canadian residents, majority of them hate Canadian healthcare system and come to America for faster service, overall more quality and more freedom of choice.
There are a couple that love the Canadian system, they are pretty healthy people overall though so the waits don’t matter to them.

That genuinely surprises me. Interesting. I'd always heard relatively good things about their healthcare system. Hmm.

Singapore is great for things like healthcare and it's very clean and safe but it get's boring really quickly. Singaporean culture is pretty shallow and can be very stressful. The good thing about Singapore is that it is very easy to get to other places unfortunately with COVID-19 you can leave but if you come back you have to be quarantined on your own dime for 2 weeks. Talking to my mom and some non-Singaporean friends who live there they are going a bit stir crazy.

Don’t get me wrong, for normal check ups and procedures or non emergencies they’re fine. You will still wait weeks to months for those appointments but they aren’t emergencies.

Probably somewhere along the Southern coast of Spain.

Warm climate, amazing beaches (lots of amazing scenery everywhere really), low cost of living (for Europe), great food, good state-provided healthcare, still within a single day's travel to the US.

Just for example, as of now it’s about 20 weeks to see a specialist after GP referral in Canada.

This is where I am conflicted on government controlled healthcare or healthcare for all.
When you look at most of the numbers it’s not that great.
But everyone has healthcare so it’s like damned if you do dammed if you don’t.

Some of the countries I am seeing thrown around have terrible economies.

The one that surprised me is a former high school and college friend of mine has moved to Poland and has no desire to leave. Poland has some economic and social problems that keep most people away, so I was concerned for him but it has been 20 years.
