Doubt it. They have a great culture it seems. Anti Texans. They may run the division for the short term
There is no way you can convince me that Watson is in anyway, shape or form, holding this team back. You would have to be on some super strength Haterade to even think such a thing.
Well, the issue is, he is the best player that this franchise ever had. And considering the current economic factor, cutting JJ is a big hit for this franchise for ticket and merchandises sells. So unless JJ will retire or he demanded a trade, its very unlikely this team will just outright cut him but rather doing some kind contract re-construction to keep him.
Why does he get a pass? He has made no progress since his rookie year. People will try to blame the offensive line, play calling, lack of talent, etc. But this offensive has done nothing the past 6 games...it can’t ALWAYS be someone else’s fault.
Watson has some blame such as holding on to the ball too long but the offensive scheming places Watson in 3rd and 8+ yard situations ALL THE TIME.
Watson holds on to the ball because the Texans are below average at getting separation. Look at Hopkins now that he has good play calling.
I'm not giving him a pass. I said he's not holding this team back like Buzzkill O'Brien is. Watson, despite his faults, does more than enough to win every game.
