That down and in pitch to lefties is often a sweet spot, but Pressly said he didn't miss his spot. Seemed like it was a bad place to leave it, almost better off burying it in that area. Lidge (and Giles) would miss their backfoot slider there and give up home runs to lefties as well. It wasn't a hanger, just ran into the natural swing path, I think.
Question, is there a particular team we think the 'Stros would do better against between the Twins, Indians or White Sox? At this point, I'm rooting the the A's to win out and take the #2 seed (bypassing the Astros). I know it's hard to project that based on such a wacky schedule where we never played those teams.
Id take the White Sox. They’ve lost 6 in a row...Also 11-19 vs >.500, 21-24 vs RHP (13-0 vs LHP so no Framber), and have given up more runs this year than the other two.
I'm not sure. After Chapman went down I thought I wanted the A's. Now I'm leaning towards the Twins or White Sox because those teams have never seen Javier, Urquidy, Paredes, and Taylor. They have also only seem Framber on a limited basis. That could be a nice advantage in a short series compared to playing the A's that have seen them several times this season.
If some playoff games were cancelled for some reason, the make up games could very well be 7 inning double headers. Just need your starter to go 7 in that scenario.
The Good: McCullers did well Tucker with 2 hits and a steal Sneed with a good outing The Bad: Peripherals catch up to Scrubb, who gave up 2 runs and his first homer Lights out again for the offense Bielak was bad The Ugly: Altuve, Bregman, and Gurriel getting cold again is concerning
Anyone else really hoping that the Astros have a chance to be the first team with a losing record in MLB history to win the World Series? This really is the Major League moment when we win the whole f'n thing! ...or they get swept in the first round like 99% of the baseball world wants.
Ok...so as far as who the Astros will play in the wild-card round: -If Twins win today, we play the A's - If A's lose today, we play the A's - If Twins lose, A's win, and White Sox lose, we play the Twins - If Twins lose, A's win, and White Sox win, we play the A's We can't play the White Sox because any scenario that have them as the Division Champ would put them ahead of the A's or tied, and they own the tiebreaker.
