Cause I’m not in Texas I don’t follow Crenshaw they closely. I know he’s a Trump supporter but I didn’t get the impression he was that closely tied to him. The impression I get out of him was like Ben Sasse. He supports him because that’s his party but he’s not like Tom Cotton or Matt Gaetz who are fan boys Regarding the Omar statement about 9/11 that was a dumb statement and one of the reasons I didn’t vote for her last week in her primary.
How was it a dumb statement? Because of these type of odd sentiments, Muslims in the US have to walk on egg shells. For the life of me I never seen someone get offended when someone invokes 9/11 with a pronoun until a Muslim lady did it.
Seriously you don’t see how “some people did some stuff” to refer to 911 is a dumb statement? I’ve never heard anyone else refer to 911 or another major tragedy like that and if they did it was dumb for them to do so too.
Actually now that I think about it I’ve heard others express in similar terms other tragedies. Ive heard some people downplay the Holocaust in similar terms. In fact recently the guy who founded the Extinction Rebellion called the Holocaust “almost a normal event in human history.. and more fu(&ery in human history.”
To equate "almost a normal event" regarding the Hollocaust to her expressing a cause and effect relationship so in shorthand she used the pronoun form is incredibly disingenuous bullshit. What would ever make you think she would even sympathize with the attackers of 9/11? Is it the hijab? Or is she not allowed to criticize US foreign policy like any other American citizen? **** off with that rhetoric. No sane reasonable person would assume she's "making light of 9/11". The only people who would are people who hold biases within assuming a hijabi Muslim lady would imply such an absurd thing and taking the worst possible assumption of a statement. You've definitely heard 9/11 be referenced with a pronoun before.
He should probably care more about figuring out why Texas residents have the lowest rate of healthcare access in the nation. People like him disgust me.
Your feedback is duly noted and will be taken at the highest level of consideration as it relates to future posts. Thank you
The President of the United States on a near daily basis says dumb things about a major tragedy. Maybe you need to confer with "those people" and get up to speed.
Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the nation. https://wallethub.com/edu/uninsured-rates-by-state/4800/
Not really - if you sort that chart by the "Healthcare Affordability" column, Texas is dead last. More on that chart.... the last four columns are pretty useless, and are really just symptoms of the first two columns The chart is based on a survey, not based on analytical data. But even still, it doesn't paint a good picture of Texas and healthcare.
