we need Jokic. Harden/Eric/Jokic/PJ that's all nba THICC team 1. Baynes was a rugby player. Sign him up.
Why cant we play “ long ball” everyone has to have 6’8” wingspan and up .. and has to be between 6’3-6’10
so it looks like you either need to be short like boston, medium height like miami, or tall like denver/los angeles. get on it morely!
but i thought smallball isnt about height, its all about getting the quickest and most athletic players at every position... and this doesnt seem like we did that... So did we fail at that basic principle? Was this another example similar to running a 3ball intense focus - but basically having mediocre 3 pt shooters? Strategy issue - or a proper team building issue? ...or simply an execution issue? So did we not have the proper personnel to execute this strategy - but we forced it anyway? Were we trying to force round guys into square holes? Was this an example of pushing a particular philosophy - rather than playing to the strengths of the personnel at our disposal? I question all of this because I think we have a good core... I'm seeing a lot of 'blow it up' posts where people wanna gut the roster or even trade Harden to Philly... and I think all of that is nonsense... We got 2 recent MVPs and at least a few decent role players... Imo stop screwing around with 'gimmick' game plans and build and run a team like its supposed to be done - go get a freaking rim protector or 2! Personally, I thought the whole 'we gotta trade CC bc we dont have sufficient spacing for WB' was overblown... its not like guys havent driven the lane with a conventional center lineup forever. Imo... having spacing for WB (and Harden) is more about having a stretch 4 so you dont have a total clusterfk at the rim... but the necessity of having to clear the entire paint to allow for penetration seemed grossly overdone - and counterproductive for the other end of the court... imo...
I feel like "Tuckers" would have sufficed. Not sure why the creator felt the need to add "PJ". Feels like an antipattern.
Boston doesn't seem very 'short and thicc' though. Kemba, Hayward, Tatum, Brown and Theis all have prototypical NBA bodies. The only 'thicc' dude is maaaybe Marcus Smart?
