NEXT GEN Gaming Console, PS5 and Xbox Series X news/upates

The streaming is incredibly awful in the US as well. When I used it last year, the graphics, the frame rate was complete ****, and I got kicked out of the games every 5 minutes due to disrupted connections.

 

I haven't actually tried the service, so wasn't exactly sure what to think about the streaming. I see some people say it is OK, while others are saying it is horrible (especially on PC). That sounds about right.

I either forgot or didn't know you could download them (at least on PS4). That would at least solve the streaming issues. I think there are close to 400 PS4 games on the service, and assuming you can download most/all of them, that's not a terrible deal. Of course, I'm guessing most of those suck, but a decent number of them seem decent IMO.

 

Yea you can download all the PS4 ones, but not the PS3 and PS2 games unfortunately, making them basically useless atm.

The library is pretty big now and they add at least 3 AAA games each month (some of em are time-limited, so can only play em for 3-6months), so it's a great deal.

 

Time to go camp your nearest Gamestop, Black Friday style? You know when stores will open, but not when it'll be available online.

Some press received XSX units, and an embargo recently lifted allowing them to talk about their experiences. I can't really find one video that summarizes everything, but I'll try to link a few here:




You have things like the total amount of usable HDD space, load times for BC games (relative to Xbox One X), times for loading/moving to an external HDD, Quick Resume feature (including how many BC titles you can swap at the same time), cold boot times, BC enhancements, impressions about the controller/console, etc.

Generally sounds pretty good.

FYI I think I saw Sony did something similar with the PS5, though limited to those in Japan IIRC. No idea if/when we'll hear about that.

I did the Arc, sub & rears. Looks sexy. Sounds good to me. But the A/V nerds will still tell you wired is better. Ultimately I don't quite care enough about cinema audio to go that route.

 

i went the nerd route along time ago with receiver etc. yeah it sounded great but it was not a clean look.

Xbox by farrrrrrrrrrrr...

Starfield and The Elder Scrolls and Fallout and Doom being Xbox exclusive is a game changer for me.

 

I thought Xbox/Bethesda already said they aren't making the game's exclusive?

 

So far they just said they are going to take them on a case by case basis. So nothing confirmed either way yet other than Phil Spencer said they are going to honor the existing agreements with games like Death Loop which are already Playstation exclusives set to come out within the next year.

Yea this. Doubt they would've done the deal if they were forbidden to publish on other consoles with those huge franchises, so likely only some new franchises or spin-offs will be exclusive.

 

Um, they did the deal because MS paid double their valuation. MS controls if games are multi platform. Bethesda doesn’t care about if Sony gets access. Only that MS’s checks cleared. lol. $7.5 Billion. MS didn’t buy them to make games for Sony. The PC and Xbox only matter to MS.

They will release the 2 games promised to Sony. After, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

For sure the heavy hitters like Starfield, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls are going to be Xbox/PC exclusive. 100%.

 

MS is about money and reaching the widest audience, as evidenced by game pass, not about exclusives.

They've multiple times stated so themselves.

This deal allows them direct money from some of the most iconic franchises in history, making them exclusive would lose them a ton of money.
