He got it through nepotism. No one is denying that. How did Ivanka and Jared get their current positions? I would say Jared is significanltly more flagrant form of nepotism as he is placed at a high level executive branch position based on his personal relationship with the president.
Hope you are right. I am more concerned about his cult following rather than his GOP enablers. If trump stays out of jail, assuming he loses the election and either peacefully leaves or is forcefully removed from office, him and his sycophants are going to continue to disrupt and impede our democracy for years to come.
Also the Kushner family stands to personally gain from the work he has done in the Middle East because they have gotten financing for shaking real estate ventures from the Emirates.
FYI, I don't think it was necessarily a good idea for Hunter Biden to take this role, but..... He actually has a pretty decent resume to sit on a board of a transitioning industrial corporation: -Served on US Department of Commerce focusing on eCommerce -Was on the board of Amtrak for 5 year term, elevated to vice-chair -Career as hedge fund advisor -Tech startup advisor -Worked with BHR Partners (private equity firm) I'm not saying these are admirable career highlights that serve the greater good (equity firm have done alot to destroy career progression with the American workforce), but as far as a resume that would lead to sitting on the board of a natural gas firm, he was more than "Qualified." It's also lost in the conspiracy theory that Burisma courted Biden in the wake of anti-corruption efforts ramped up in Ukraine. Not before. Burisma brought Hunter on board mostly as a PR stunt to paint a picture of a cleaning up their act.... which speaks to the weight that JOE Biden has in terms of a respected figure in Global Politics. *Now picture this.... if Burisma was under pressure to clean up their perception to avoid corruption investigations, and they brought in DONALD TRUMP JR.... what kind of reaction do you think that would have in the global business community???
For that role he actually has a decent resume of experience. I don't think Hedge fund, or private equity guys necessarily are admirable people, but that is good experience to eventually be brought in as a board member for a firm like this. Nepotism probably served him getting a job in government in Commerce which led to the Amtrak gig. If Chelsea Clinton got either of these jobs in government the Right Wing would have lost their collective minds. However.... These are far more credible corporate america ready jobs than anything ANY Trump has done to get an interview with a global firm in any high ranking position. If your first and only job is an undefined title at a 20 person family real estate licensing firm you couldn't get an interview doing much of anything in Corporate America. It's actually pretty amazing when you realize how the Trump having virtually no relevant corporate America ready experience.

He wasn't qualified. Now you want to talk about how Ivanka and Jared are qualified to be advisors to the president? Or how is Jared qualified to be the middle east envoy? Or his conflict of interest getting a bailout loan from the middle east?
His name helped him gain that position. Nepotism doesn't inherently mean that the father hand held him to the position. It can also mean leveraging your family name as a viable asset to a company. It's unfortunately common and not illegal so Hunter is fine.

There are multiple definitions. It also is just favoring someone for employment based on family name.

This bulls*** is about as sensationalist as I expected. Ron Johnson, who actually was part of Biden's delegation to Ukraine when they shut down the corrupt Ukrainian prosecutor, now just another of Trump's salad tossers.
