Overall still an A Things I like so far; -Homelander family tension -Homelander -Aqua guy is now likeable and sometimes pretty funny like hitting the kids with the water gun. - I'm ok with the romance and the tension between the lead and the starlight girl. -The new girl Homelander is bossing around. You can see the nervous breakdown about to happen. Solid. -Homelander trying to rally the 7 together. -The guy from Breaking bad is holding his scenes. Things I don't like - Lightning girl. Seems a little too over the top right now. - A train should be a lot more interesting. He's a good dick, but they need to give him a silver lining at some point. - Homelander's kid, lame. He rivals the star wars kid. -Although the action is good, we need some more super hero shiot. Do they actually do anything?
Watched the first three over the weekend, enjoyed them but they seem like they were mostly set up for what's coming down the road.... I like Stormfront but I've been a fan of Aya Cash since Your the Worst on FXX...
This is what I was wondering. Like, they ever going to use their powers? Maybe a fight? I'm only through 2 episodes, but seems like a super hero show should have a little more super.
I mean, season 1 had a bunch of scenes where the supers did super stuff. Plane scene, laser beam eyes scene. This season, we've seen Deep go full Aquaman already. This show is pretty similar to Doom Patrol - a "superhero" show where the audience should be drawn to the show due to the characters' personalities and not their powers.
I haven't watched it yet, but the news is indicating what you said. Season 1 was written to be released for binge. Season 2 was written the same, but they decided to go episodic. So things like action budgets, cliff hangers, aren't spaced out like a soap opera. Since first few episodes is build up, it's affecting the reviews a bit. It's supposed to pick up.
Not going to watch this until all the episodes are out. Sorry, you guys can't put the binge genie back in the bottle.
Just finished S2E2. I'm finding myself drawn to this show for the character interactions and drama...and not so much supe power displays. I can say...and maybe it will change as the character and story progresses...I wanted to punch Stormfront square in the nose from the first time she was in a scene. Side note...hoping Elisabeth Shue will show up in Cobra Kai S3 now that she's not attached to The Boys anymore.
I didn't know you owned the thread. I will clear any input on why I like the show with you privately before posting.
Me too. Great slapstick humor, even if you didn't know if he was OK, the whole show is so over the top with violence that small bit was funny.
Great Episode 6! Just finished watching it. Plot twists galore! Maybe the comedic moment of the entire series happened when... Spoiler The huge dick was choking Mother's Milk. And when he found out what was wrapped around his neck. Everyone in my house was asleep but still LOL'd hard at that. Also...the twists introduced. Homelander and Stormfront hooking up. Stormfront a Nazi!! Starlight and Butcher actually getting along. WTF!!! Lamplighter!!! Maeve's camera! A-Train joining the cult...err...church. Holy crap things just ramped up!!! At some point, Homelander and Stormfront will have things go sideways between them...and the fallout is going to be massive. Can't wait for that to drop. I think my new favorite character is Deep. He's so stupid...yet likable.
