    When this is all over, the story of the trade for Westbrook will be, "This wasn't the guy we most wanted, and certainly not the best fit, but he was the guy we could get." And we'll never get a real-life test of the organization's bet that the alternative, making Harden play another year with CP, would have done more damage. For that, we need to know a lot more about their relationship.

    I still want more dirt on how this deal went down. Exactly what Morey and Harden and Fertitta said and did. Evidence only, please. Anyone who has good links, please post them.

    @Nook has been on this from the beginning and it lines up with everything that was posted by Shams, Woj, etc, and even players like rivers who have openly stated on numerous occasions the harden/cp3 drama was bs

    Sorry I don't have time to go and cobble it all back together again.

    Ultimately the interview that Tilman gave this season spelled it all out and substantiated the majority of what I was told.

    Westbrook is who Tilman wanted..... the GM and coach were not so enthused. The GM and coach did everything to try and make it work.

    Maybe with a new coach the Rockets will find a way to better utilize Westbrook, but he was the worst worst starter on the floor against the Lakers and Thunder this season.

    How some so easily ignored every single red flag and deluded themselves into thinking this was a slam dunk win for Houston will always confuse me.

    Harden also admitted to having a big part in it. He said he heard he was available and wanted us to get him or something along those lines.

    Tilman and Harden definitely wanted WB, the question is was Morey on board, I have a really hard time imagining he was.

    CP3 was probably the best #2 Harden was going to have. Morey has pulled rabbits out of his hat before but it's going to be tough now. Hopefully Morey can hit a home run on the coach.

    Well, while it has been exaggerated it is not BS now.

    Paul said on numerous occasions, he doesn't communicate with Harden.

    They ain't friends.

    There are people who read too much into it, it was just frustration for Harden and Paul to lose in the Playoffs and Paul prolly wanted to try his way.

    Harden's style back then was to Iso hard and take turns with CP3, they weren't assisting each other that well.

    The beef part was mainly a discussion about playing styles and while I think Harden might want to change, it is not easy, he reverted back to his usual ways which worked for him before.

    It led to the trade because management thought Chris Paul was declining... not because there was a rumor they didn't get along.
