Live on CNBC for Tilly Tuesday

    Tilman:

Daryl Morey's job is safe, he's the GM
Tilman will not meddle in hiring next coach. "I'm the sign off guy. I wouldn't know how to interview a basketball coach"

I guarantee Tilman has someone (or someones) to tell him if whomever Morey chooses, will be good.

Regardless of what card Tilman plays (in this case, the "clueless" card), it's like he said - he's the sign off guy.

I actually believe this. Hopefully he’s been humbled this year and starts to learn how to run a franchise a bit better.

Just because he wont get fired it doesnt mean he will still have a job.
PIcking a Fertita preapproved coach doesnt count.

    let’s see who he hires.

If it’s Kenny Atkinson, Chris Finch or Stephen Silas I guarantee it’s nothing to do with the owner.

If it’s Mark Jackson then I’m out. That will be the final straw.

Well, this is good news. Tilman hasn't been at this very long, and in a short tenure hopefully has appreciated that 1) forcing the Russ trade was a bad move, and 2) Morey did a heck of a job reconfiguring the team to adjust and give us a fighting chance in the playoffs with the new roster.

I'm over here doing a @J.R. in the other thread transcribing Tilman's response and lazy-ass Mark Berman's over here taking a video of his tv while eating Cheetos on his couch ... wth. :D (jk, Mr. Berman - we know you work hard)

Tilman will not meddle, that's his son Patrick's job. Tilman has passed the torch.

This sounds like then kiss of death. It's like Michael saying fredo is safe. Tilman has some real mob connections.

let's be real, Morey hasn't been fired yet because Morey has a fat contract until 2024. Les re-upped Harden and Morey before he bounced.

Also there is no other GM in the league than can do the type of cap finagling that Morey can. No other GM could even do what Tilman asks of Morey. I would bet Morey leaves before he is fired.
