The bigger issue was the mutated strains from Europe...... which also happen to be by far the biggest viral strains in the USA, and the strains that ravaged the New England area, from where all the passengers from Europe came.

Second, Trump NEVER banned travel from China. What he did was put very porous restrictions on travel from China. Trump still let thousands of people from China enter the USA as there were no bans for some parts of China. Between February and June, at least 8,000 Chinese entered the USA and 27,000 American's and non-Chinese were allowed to return to the USA with the government losing track of nearly 2,000 of those travelers.

Further, Joe Biden said very little about whether there should be a travel ban to China. I know that in April he said he supported doctor supported travel bans.

At the end of the day, Trump doesn't really have anything positive to point to concerning his handling of COVID19 so he tries to speak in half truths or complete lies, for example claiming Biden wrote him a letter saying Trump was right and that Biden was sorry.

Like everything about Donald Trump, his China travel ban is mostly bullshit.

Having each state respond to the Corona Virus is about as stupid as it would have been to fight WW II with no Federal involvement and each dumbass governor doing his own thing.

We are ****ed with an antiquated Constitution that has been hacked by billionaire fanaticslibertarians who hate government.
See the book Democracy in Chains for a detailed description of how the Kochs and their guys at GMU schemed to do it.

Sounds like grounds for social services to take their kids away to me. They aren't fit to raise kids, and are putting their own kids in danger, as well as everyone they come in contact with.

Yeah... I don't think before Trump that I heard anything even 1/10th as inflammatory as this statement.

He should be removed from office and treated for mental illness. I mean, this guy should not be the spokesman of the Department of Health and Human Services. His history is disturbing enough. Do these sound like the words of a man deemed fit for duty?

"You understand that they’re going to have to kill me, and unfortunately, I think that’s where this is going,” the 58-year-old told his Facebook followers, also noting that his “mental health has definitely failed”:

“I don’t like being alone in Washington,” he said, describing “shadows on the ceiling in my apartment, there alone, shadows are so long.”

It is interesting whether Covid could be used as a legal reason for social services or even a self-defense claim. I don't think I've seen that in the courts yet.

That'd be interesting. Since you can't even use it in Texas as an excuse to vote by mail.

"I don't want to harm my or my family's health, up to and including death. May I vote my mail?"

"Are you going to vote for Republicans?"

"Well, that's none of your business."

"No, you may not vote by mail. NEXT! Oh.....Black. No......don't even ask, just no. NEXT!"

Trump doesn't care if more people die. He only cares about himself. He doesn't care if his reckless behavior endangers communities. He doesn't even want Governors taking actions to stop the spread, but will blame them when people die. He is protected from anyone he comes in contact with, and that's all that matters to him.

Trump cheers judge’s ruling overturning Pennsylvania coronavirus restrictions

A federal judge — and Trump appointee — struck a blow to Pennsylvania’s Democratic governor on Monday, ruling that shutdown orders intended to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus were unconstitutional. The decision raises the specter of conservative judges overturning measures implemented around the country meant to hamper the spread of the virus. President Trump celebrated the decision on Monday night, expressing hope that judges in Michigan and North Carolina would soon follow suit.

We need a leader who cares about our people. We need a leader who is responsible, and takes this virus seriously. Trump's actions, and lack of, are leading Americans straight to their graves. These deaths are on Trump. He is to blame.

The president on Monday held a campaign event in Arizona with little social distancing or mask wearing, yet AP reporter Jonathan Lemire says that at a key moment in the rally supporters sitting behind Trump were asked to wear their masks.
