He wasnt a productive player any place he went afterwards. That is my point. When did he say this? Kobe was putting up amazing numbers under Kobe and got injured, that's what happend. Can you get me a quote for this? And even if he did, it doesnt mean Kobe was right, Kobe didnt start winning rings until he got significant talent on this team. He was saying that with Harden on a tear and us not having Chris Paul, we nearly did win playing this style. We did not have the talent, Russ is bad.
Not going to argue with any of that, BUT... Anyone who watched Trezl in today's game should realize that no amount of coaching was going to turn that guy into a defensive stopper.
https://www.nba.com/2016/news/featu...jeff-bzdelik-get-final-shot/?ls=iref:nbahpt3b Also... Kobe: That style would never win a championship. He said this with CP3 on the team, not Westbrook. Kobe LOVED Westbrook too btw, besides the point but hey...the guy had a really high BBIQ. EDIT: Also, it seems like for Kobe the good numbers under MDA were irrelevant for him. Kobe wanted to win and knew MDA wasn't going to get that done.
And that's fine. If he were a defensive stopper he'd be an all-star player. I'm just talking about him being a valuable player that can contribute is all.
The Warriors won playing Dantoni's way though? We dont even know of what context that it was in reference too either. With the Rockets he adapted for Harden. And Kobe was wrong. He would have won had Chris Paul not gotten injured. Carmelo himself has never been a winner ever. And he's wrong about Westbrook too. Dude hasnt been a winner since Durant left him.
You have a more realistic view of Trezl than a lot of CFers, who think we gave up a budding All-Star. Regardless, the Clips demanded he be included in that trade, so we wouldn't have been able to keep him anyway. I agree, it was sad to see him go, but I don't think it affected us much at all.
On the subject of next season, has there been any discussion or indication on what the NBA is thinking for timing/schedule for the 2020-21 season? Do they start back up in November like usual?
it's funny how people view their own coaches. most okc fans were b****ing that donovan did an awful job and were glad he was fired. apparently it was just two terrible coaches going at it. i will say, both teams had the same record and the team without it's 2nd best player was the team that won.
MDA would bring at least one title to H-Town if there were no Warriors dynasty. He took Harden to the next level, prepared the ground for him to get the MVP. Westbrook wasnt his decision and we all know that he does not fit MDA style of basketball. But after all, with RoCo trade we went all in on his style and came out empty handed. Lost CC becouse or that. Its time to move on. ... I still think that core of CP, JH & CC would be more dangerous than this squad. Farewell Mike, I wish you all good in the next coaching capture.
