Consider the fact that the entire NBA and opposing teams' fans are absolutely loving the humiliation. Harden is forever a playoff ghost. Nothing more than an empty stats regular season champ. Moreyball is dead. Just think: the Warriors are sitting at home laughing their asses off at how pathetic this gimmicky team is getting embarrassed. There's no coming back from this to be honest. Expect the team to get blown up -- which has to happen at this point otherwise the rebuild will be harder. Watch James Harden be a Knick. Another factor as to why this is the time to blow it up: there more than likely won't be fans in arenas next season, at least not in large numbers. Rip the band-aid off now and start the rebuild when ticket sales and attendance won't matter as much.
Give me Morey over 95% of GM's that just embraced defeat and "waited" for the GSW dynasty to be over. I've never faulted DM for always going all out and being willing to take massive risks when they knew what they had wasn't going to work. All the people bashing Harden and Morey are a bunch of crybabies that don't appreciate what we have. You guys wany to be Sacramento
How? Tillman pushed him for it? Maybe with Harden whispering in his ear but hell he's the owner who decided to say go at it and cripple this team. I also blame China!
In the last 8 years every championship was won by either Lebron, Kawhi, or Curry and this year is almost guaranteed to be the same. We didn’t have the best player of this era so we didn’t win period. That’s how the NBA has always been and likely will always be. Very rarely do you have a team like the 04 Pistons that is the exception that proves the rule. Sorry to say but maybe there is some truth to that saying that you are destined to become what you hate. We are now the Jazz of the 90s. Ugh.
Maybe not the end of Morey, but hoping its the end of this style of play with small ball, ISO and/or 3's. We've had so many iterations of this and time and time again its shown to be good during regular season, but so far off what is needed during the finals.
Analytics cant measure heart. This game (And series) has exposed the fact that Harden doesn't have any heart. I can't believe Morey decided to build the franchise around this guy and construct a roster to appease him. Pathetic. Embarrassing. Shameful.
This mistake wasn’t building a team around Harden. Of course he built a team around him. He’s an all star, one of the best players in the league. Maurys mistake was surrounding him by a bunch of scrubs. Every single year he goes out and picks up a few low paid scrubs. And whether Tillman had his hands on the Westbrook trade or not, Maury made it happen and gave up lots of first round draft picks. Before that he had to give up pics just to get rid of a bad contract with Ryan. The list goes on and on. And whether Tillman had his hands on the Westbrook trade or not, Maury made it happen and gave up lots of first round draft picks. Before that he had to give up pics just to get rid of a bad contract with Ryan. He then traded away the only post offender, Capela, and didn’t replace him with anyone that could defend the paint. Not only that, but he didn’t sign any free agents tall enough to catch a pick and roll or lob, which is where Harden made a living in the past. If Morey stays, he needs to change coaches with a new philosophy. The small bowl crap needs to go
The roster turnover is very high over the years. How can the team develop any chemistry, continuity and togetherness when there's so many players been giving a short rope with the organization? The number crunching and analytics has ignored human decency 101.
I hope Morey gets a job on a shitty team like the Cavs, show us how small ball will win a ring. I want to see the experiment happen, just not on this team.
Moreyball will never get CLOSE to winning a championship. That system is a one trick pony made to solely boost Harden's stats
