lol @ thinking we'd be better off with cp3 for the next 2 seasons after this one. he'd make less mistakes then westbrook right now coming off covid and injury but we'd get even less rebounds
He's really good on rangy slim wings and for team defense but terrible defending stronger guys and quick guards. I think he and Eric Gordon will be gone next season.
The Rockets looked at the trade for WB as a younger and athletic upgrade over CP3.. The problem is, they lost the basketball IQ and leadership. Westbrook needed more space on the floor, so they traded Capela to clear up the middle. So really, we lost CP3 and Capela because of Westbrook. I like Covington, but man, he gets blown by all the time on D. Overrated to call him a “3 and D” guy.
Who cares about that when you don’t have to guard Westbrook in the half court? The Laker D has apparently eliminated the 3 pointer from the Rocket offense, and you think Capela would befuddle them?
That’s what happens when you trade for a dumb player like westbrick. This is what a real contender lineup looks like. And you always have the option of playing small to go along with playing traditional. cp3 Harden RoCo PJ Capela

To me, the Capela pick and roll runs a defender off the three point line, leaving a three open with good ball movement. Of course they could have countered this, too, but I think it's a lot more doubtful.
capela or some element of inside would make rockets less one dimensional. 2020 baby.. i wouldnt say screwed since there are things that can happen with personnel that the team would improve. the truth is i think fern t*** , what with personnel, coach and morey will make the team worse. in that sense they are screwed. i feel like we dont need to be screwed but will make more dumb moves to compound. losing in 2nd round sucks but its to the favorite. signs point to down though and thats a shame. it doesnt need to get worse
Did he get hurt this year. Doesn’t look like it someone else did though and missed more games. but that didn’t matter. He sucked regardless of his injury. Dumbest decision in this harden era by far. CP3 would’ve had to have played at least 20 more games without getting injured to win a title. There’s nothing in his history to suggest that that would have happened. Yes Westbrook sucks, but that doesn’t mean that CP3 wasn’t injury prone. Sometimes there isn’t an easy answer.

Trading Capela for Covington was a mistake, trading Capela and a first-round pick for Covington turned Morey into a clown.
