Deaths have been going down nicely in the US. Almost back to the lowest points, and Texas' new cases and deaths are dropping like a rock. The worst results in the US (by far!) were in the NY/NJ/Connecticut/Mass states. Yet the liberals are blaming Trump. Doesn't make sense!
This isn't insightful. The virus caught fire earlier in Canada than in the Southern US. Even NYC, who by any measure performed pathetically, has been seeing low single digit deaths per day for quite a while.
Which also happens to be the largest metropolitan area of the country.... This isn't something to play red or blue with. Of course the red side wants that. Their supporters are in the most rural states and areas of the country. Also, it probably would have died down even quicker, if it weren't for the 200k cases attributed to the Sturgis Motorcycle rally, and I'll bet most of those people swing the same way as you...
Trump and his puppets of Abbott, DeSantis, and Kemp are to blame for so many deaths that could have been prevented. 6/11 - 9/11 Total Covid Deaths / (population) Texas 12,163 deaths / (29.4 million) Florida 9,656 deaths / (21.5 million) Georgia 3,917 deaths / (3.9 million) Now, let's compare Texas to a bunch of modern world countries. I'll just add all their totals together to show how much worse we have done saving lives. Australia, UK, Austria, Canada, France, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Norway, and Portugal have a combined population of 338 million people. Their total deaths combined were 7,321 6/11 to 9/11. Deaths /( population) All those countries 7,321 deaths (338 million) USA 78,784 deaths (331.4 million) Georgia, Texas, and Florida 25,736 / (50.9 mill) Now that's horrible. The GOP push to open the schools and play football is hard to justify in any sense of the word. Their response to the pandemic has been pathetic. So many countries have done better.
Trump lied to the American people (Woodward tapes), downplaying the virus, knowingly. You have no rebuttal to that!
Haven't you seen the Republican media and politicians contort themselves over this? "I don't pay attention to gotcha books...." They have to rummage deep in their "prison wallets", but stinky as it is, they always find something.
This year will go down in the record books as the dumbest, most selfish, and most reckless generation of college students in American history.
More maskless morons at another Trump rally led by their incompetent maskless leader. Another brilliant quote of a women asked if she was concerned about catching the virus, who said no. "It's been eight months -- I think I'm immune. And if I get it, I go to the hospital a few days. It's not that bad," Ainsclugh said. No social distancing and few masks as crowd waits for Trump rally in Nevada By Boris Sanchez, CNN Updated 7:21 PM EDT, Sat September 12, 2020 https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/12/politics/trump-nevada-rally-face-masks-social-distancing/index.html
deb I’m sorry but this is perhaps the worst analysis I’ve ever seen. You just cherry picked dates. The virus had hit Europe months before coming to many parts of the US.
This all ties into trump's efforts to downplay and lie about the true state of the crisis Trump officials interfered with CDC reports on Covid-19 The politically appointed HHS spokesperson and his team demanded and received the right to review CDC’s scientific reports to health professionals. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/...nterfered-with-cdc-reports-on-covid-19-412809
Yet it took the President until the middle of March to suspend travel from Europe (six weeks after the China suspension).
[QUOTE="bigtexxx, post: 13116606, The virus had hit Europe months before coming to many parts of the US.[/QUOTE] A patient treated in a hospital near Paris on 27 December for suspected pneumonia actually had the coronavirus, his doctor has said. This means the virus may have arrived in Europe almost a month earlier than previously thought. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52526554 The first laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19 in the United States was confirmed on January 20, 2020, and reported to CDC on January 22, 2020. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6924e2.htm#:~:text=The first laboratory-confirmed,January 22, 2020.
