This just shows that that no National Plan to stop the spread has proven Trump to be one of the worst leaders in the world. A Con selling Snake Oil never saved anyone's lives.

he just doesn’t get it...what an idiot no one thinks he should’ve been out here saying this virus will bring about the apocalypse and mass graves...what u do is get everyone united and on the same page...what u do is make Americans know that this is a serious threat that will take discipline and sacrifice to combat...what u do is create a national plan and listen to the science what u don’t do is acknowledge how deadly it is in private, but then tell the public it’s nothing, it’s well under control, and will go away by Easter...what u don’t do is know how easily it’s transmitted with a 5% death rate, but refuse mask usage and clown people who advocate for its use...u don’t hold countless rallies with no mask usage or social distancing at all...u don’t push to open things up when the virus is spreading like wildfire and you’re not even bothered to do anything about it this Woodward tape is extremely damaging
This story just about sums up what a poor excuse of a leader Trump is. He can't even begin to try and compare his lies to history like this without making himself out to be even more of a fraud and reckless incompetent. Trump twists history of Churchill and FDR to cover up pandemic denialism Analysis by Stephen Collinson, CNN Updated 7:35 AM EDT, Fri September 11, 2020 https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/11/politics/donald-trump-churchill-fdr-pandemic/index.html If only we had a leader who had cared about the dangers of putting people at risk, so many lives could have been saved. Even now, he doesn't acknowledge the dangers of pushing people into unsafe situations.
this guy was calling it a Dem hoax...meanwhile, he was fully aware of how serious and deadly this virus was he knowingly did things to contribute to countless more deaths....this is indeed criminal if the owner of a theme park knew that their roller coaster was not up to code and could easily malfunction, but still advertised for people to come and use the ride while doing nothing to fix it and it eventually malfunctions and people die, the owner would be sued and charged with a crime...there are many more examples what Trump did is criminal, and he did it on purpose and with full knowledge of what he was doing...it is absolutely disgusting what’s so sad and pathetic is that his supporters willingly ate up his bullsh*t...How many of their deaths did Trump contribute to by knowingly and willingly lying to the American people?
I imagine there will at least be a civil suit against Trump once he leaves office...we'll see if the courts allow it since, in the past, civil suits haven't been allowed under presidential immunity...however, those cases were very specific and didn't deal with anything of this magnitude. As far as criminal charges...I imagine Congress and the next Attorney General will have plenty to work with and will likely have many charges to bring against Trump if they want to. I still keep wondering if the Secret Service will protect a President that flees the country to avoid indictments.
unfortunately he will get off. prosecuting a president or former president sets a new precedence. the easy and likely scenario is swept under rug and move on.
Woodward really ain’t sh*t either IMO...he saw thousands upon thousands dying, and held onto this tape so he could leak it right before his book release all these people who knew things, but didn’t disclose anything in order to write a book and get money ain’t sh*t
Who should he have told? Literally, the highest authoritative figure in the USA knew about it. And, if you're going to call out Woodward, call out everyone who also knew. Also, remember when others were trying to say the same stuff Trump said to Woodward, Trump admittedly downplayed it. There is one and only one person to lay blame on and that's the President. Why haven't we seen widespread "panic" across the world when their leaders were open and honest? Trump is a lier (his spelling, not mine). He takes credit for everything good and I have yet to see him take any blame for anything.
he thought by labeling it china virus & china plague, his work is done. it is no longer his problem. He still thinks that!!
I'm a little late to these stories but is this why when there was less than 50 deaths in this country the White House order meetings on Covid19 classified?
Why hold onto the tape until right before your book release? When I say knew things, I am saying knew things about Trump. All these guys know damaging things about him, but gotta hold onto it while he continues to lie and mislead the public so they can get that book out.
I've brought this up before but "the Darkest Hour" speech by Churchill wasn't just the "We will fight the beaches" part that most often get quoted but most of the speech was an acknowledgement of how bad the Allied defeat in Western Europe was. Churchill never said "it was all going to just magically disappear" or called the German offensive a hoax. Churchill like all great leaders took responsibility for what happened.
As Bobrek noted there were many others who knew this and didn't say anything. In defense of Woodward he is a journalist and while these tapes are explosive he might've wanted to make sure he did the rest of his research so he could fully put them into context to be prepared to counter the inevitable attacks. Also releasing them back in Spring might have less political impact. I think the release now with his book right after Labor Day is timed when more people are paying attention to the election where it might change minds. Also Woodward might feel that no matter when he released them it probably wouldn't have changed what Trump was doing. This is a bit different than with Bolton's book where he wouldn't talk to Congress during an impeachment hearing and trial to remove. I think if there had been a Congressional or otherwise official call for Woodward to come forward and he refused I think that would be a different matter.
all the others who knew ain’t sh*t either...and all the Republicans out there excusing away everything he does and staying silent are chumps and incredibly pathetic...it’s just a bunch of people looking out for themselves down there in Washington every time I see news that so and so is releasing a new book, I just roll my eyes
