It is astounding to hear this line of argument coming from the so-called leader of the free world.

This sounds like the actions of a president who doesn't like spreading panic.

    Wtf?

Is this a text for a casino membership club, a pyramid scheme, or the scientology branch of the KKK?

"didn't want people to panic" is the ex post facto line dreamed up to cover the lies.
We know from all the personality expose' that Trumps modus operandi is to project and project his "brand" at all costs. Whether it's NDA's , lawsuits, fake PR calls, commissioned books, catch and kill from his media mogul friends and outright lying, the effect on his his reputation is how he perceives his every move.

He simply did not want a pandemic to taint 'Trumps America'.

(how much Latin can he include in one post?)

Many of the governors— Coumo, Newsom, Hogan, etc.—spoke publicly and repeatedly about the virus in a much more serious and negative light than Trump did and they didn’t cause panic and have received higher public approval on their handling of the pandemic. Same goes with Fauci. The whole rationale of “must not speak honestly about pandemic to avoid panic” makes no sense at all.

He has no problem creating panic on things that are non-issues or at least wouldn't have been issues until he created them. This is all more standard nonsense and disfunction that will be his White House's legacy.

That's the whole idea behind Hitler's plan he used to confuse people with false propaganda and fear mongering.
