It doesn't work like that though. Playoffs games don't work like this, that he's worth 9 points and he'd have those 9 points and we'd win...it just doesn't work like that. We had him all series long last year, there was no excuse, GSW even lost Durant...
Dude, he was our second best player and probably our best shooter, not to mention he made the offense AND defense better. You can't just try to look off Cp not being there. He had a down year last year(and LOL that's statistically still better than Russ this year). And Durant was out for 1.25 games.
Well it doesn’t work. Is there another plan. We over spent giving everything to get here. Where do we go from this broken point?
Again, you're downplaying what happened because you're blinded by irrational hate of Russ. I'm just telling you what happened. Westbrook had big games in their deep season runs. CP3 did not spend his career playing with scrubs.
Rewriting history is your problem. Last year's team was not a championship level team. Capela did not do great against either Utah or GS. If anything the Utah series was sloppy as hell, we barely won most of the games due to Eric Gordon shutting Mitchell down on defense. We were down in game 5 when Durant got injured and was never close to beating them even without Durant. It was a flawed as f roster that was kept alive by Harden on offense and Tucker on defense. What did CP do last year, shoot like 30 percent from 3 in the playoffs and then get shut down by Looney on the perimeter.
Yes.. After all the years its time to move on.. Even if Murray decides to change strategies, there way too much trash left and could just hinder a fresh restart
Cp3 is a better player than Russ, even now. Better stats his whole career comapred to Russ. It's not Cp3 chocking in the playoffs most of the time. Go check his numbers. Or have you forgotten this game.
Again, it just doesn't work that way. Durant was out for a full game, we were healthy, we still lost. What's the excuse for that? Playoff games don't work on paper. That's how Dort can almost knock your team out because he's suddenly playing with full confidence and belief or how Klay Thompson can go nuts on a team suddenly...some dudes just know how to win these games and some dudes don't.
So a dude that had a down year and yet his way better this year is worse than the dude who's POSTING WORSE STATS THAN EITHER YEAR....nah.
The biggest problem Morey has had this entire run is not small ball or listening to his star (not listening to Harden would have him out if a job quick). His biggest problem is not getting basketball players. He gets these specialists and we become completely dependent on them. Great teams have specialists too but they're not dependent on them, they're interchangeable. As tough as Tucker and Covington are they were a -16 and -18 respectively while Austin Rivers was a +4 in a game we lost by 10. The Lakers are closing out HARD. Even Jeff Green has looked great with us because he's an actual basketball player with versatile skills. Our starting forwards can't dribble, can't pass, can't score in the paint. On average they're better players than Rivers but when forced to do anything other than defend or shoot 3s they're useless.
It does work that way, he''s our second best player, we had to put out Joe Johnson and Ryan Anderson. LOL Kawhi was gone for game 6, we lost that. Do we lose that series too if he doenst play at the beginning. One game is one game. That series shoulndt have even gone to 7, it only went to 7 because HMMMMM....Westbrook again.
Morey didn't want Westbrook, he knew it was a bad idea. But it wasn't his call to make, he had an owner handicapping him financially and an edict to get a player that didn't fit. He tried something crazy to give us a chance within all of his constraints and it didn't work. We won't find a better GM. It's all downhill from here because we're heading into the dark era of Rockets basketball.
All I said was that Russ took his teams deeper in the playoffs, that finals run was as much because of him as well as Durant and Harden. You can't downplay that and take that away from him. CP3 has been on talented teams and just hasn't been over that hump. I hate to blame injuries too much, as I don't think a player does anything to get them, especially CP3 who stays in shape and works hard, it's just bad luck...but that plays into it too. Luck plays a lot into it, it is what it is, but the hate on Russ like he's some complete scrub that can't hoop is insane to me.
Do you want this every year? Really? This is fukin torture The rockets story during the Murray era is more than just being in the playoffs and his trade magic...we are losing our team spirit...we are a lost cause with no end in sight
Russ had Durant. One of the greatest players ever. Lol and you've seen what happens when James and Durant left, three first round exits. Injuries yea, but he wasnt injured last year and you take the risk with the injuries for the better player, not the one who makes your team worse. And you dont give up picks for it either.
You're just assuming we win if CP3 plays, even though the Warriors beat us without Durant. I'm not the one assuming that, you are. I'm saying there was no guarantee we win if CP3 plays, Klay coulda went nutso, as he tends to do when they need him, Curry could have (He did) someone could have. The Warriors were completely capable of beating us with CP3, they did so SEVERAL times, then proved they could do it without Durant just to shut up that noise.
