I don't think there is much of a case. Just reporting what the President says publicly is still news whether it is true or not. That is just reporting on the President. Also this would depend on if the Fox's editors knew that what Trump said was false and more importantly if Trump knew it was false. Also I think such a case if successful would have a chilling effect on journalism. If it comes to not just fact checking what is reported but not reporting what major figures say.
Going forward, whatever Trump says about the status of the pandemic, everyone should ask him whether what he says is an objective assessment or cheerleading.
