I can only see the big things (like arm angle), though luckily for me the Astros tend to try to develop pitchers to the extremes.
Embarrass themselves? I hope this is not about saving face because of the cheating scandal. Are you worried about the team or you being embarrassed?
That's based on us being fully healthy in the playoffs which we haven't been, and still possibly could be. The only players that are for sure done are Osuna and Yordan. The overall weakness in the AL west also plays a big factor, us and the A's simply have a very easy path to the postseason on paper. If healthy (big if) I would say our offense and pitching combo is still among the very best. The best if we're still factoring in Verlander (which I'm not)
There doesn't (edit) appear to be an AL powerhouse. Astros fully healthy should be more than that. Astros as is should be within a couple percentage points of the favorite...probably about 6% with about 6-7 other teams.
Garcia looks like a dude. Why not give some more guys in CC a shot to see if we have any more hidden gems?
I think Brett Conine is another one. Not everyday you see an arm who was used exclusively as a reliever in college switch to a starter in the minors, and dominate like he's doing.
My vote for the Stro Poll is Jimmy Wynn, RIP. Funny how Puhl was an option (maybe because he wore 21), I was thinking of him when my mind was going through all the 21's in Astros history. Has a cool lineage. Puhl, Pettitte, Bourn, Fisher, Greinke, among others.
**** YOU BLUE. Giving nothing on the edges all night, then you call that? Garcia threw about 8 pitches last inning that caught way more of the plate than that.
