i heard this very same take last year when we lost in po, then after we traded cp3 and gsw discombobulated people suddenly started to believe that due to new circumstances it was better to stand pat and we could best win it all with the old squad lol

The understanding of how to make good use of human resource (bench players) n being empathetic (workload + limitations of starters) are all management about.

This is the extreme scenario, but a good chance some or most of this happens -- if this Harden era desires to compete for a title.

I really think it's commendable that Morey tried and risked a lot, but objectively you'd think he knows this style won't work in the playoffs without the personnel. I do hope Morey stays, but I'm really curious what possible moves they can make to compete for next year.

The organization may have to consider 2021 as a "bridge year" by trading Gordon and/or Westbrook for maximum salvaged value now and seeing what can develop, hopefully a younger star, by 2022. It'll be tough.

It really has felt like the entire Harden era has been the work of a cobbler -- throwing stuff together and seeing how well it can work. And it's worked pretty well, but from a flawed foundation.

MDA's "system" has yet to gain his teams a Finals appearance. From what I can see he's repeated the situation that he had in Phoenix with Nash only now it's with Harden. As for his value against OKC, you'll recall that in Game 7 the Thunder missed their last 4 shots and a crucial free throw. They fell in love with Dort's shooting (which was an anomoly given his history), got nothing from Adams in the paint and did not put the ball (and the game) in Chris Paul's hands during the final minutes. That last second gasp with Dort against Harden summed up just how much they screwed the pooch in that game.

Now here's the rub. They (Rox) are playing a better team that is bigger, faster and has two stars of their own to matchup with Harden & Westbrick. The key to this series is/will be the play of the respective benches. And while the Rox have the better bench it will all come down to how said bench executes on the floor. Last night, the Lakers' bench badly outplayed and out scored the Rox bench. Game 4 will hinge on how the Rox respond to the adjustments by the Lakers on Harden and Westbrick et.al. That will be the pivitol game in this series because a loss puts them down 3-1 against the Lakers and for all intents and purposes, that will be it for them.

Seems reasonable but I do not see the Rox bench being much better than the Lakers'.

Better 3 pt shooters but not overall.

I feel like it was Rondo that came outta nowhere and killed us. Between his defense and his (hopefully fluke) threes. If he had been 10 ppg rondo we win.

    Or change the bench.

If Bruno can give us 1 block, 1 3ball and/or 1 dunk. If Luc can get us 1 steal and 1 shot made.

That is already 3 times what Rivers and BMac have done in 2 games.

Agreed...not sure why we also aren't playing Demarre Carroll with House out. We lost a guy with size...probably should replace him with someone of similar size against this team instead of giving more minutes to smaller guards. Carroll also has playoff experience which might help right now...still not sure why he can't get any minutes from MDA other than garbage time.
