trump panders to florida voters by banning offshore drilling that he just opened up to drilling in 2018... he will say or do anything to keep his grasp on the presidency...
Don't you find it odd that Trump refuses to say anything against Putin or Russia after the poisoning? What about the payments to terrorists to kill troops or the recent incidents of harming our troops? Nope, not a word. Yet, he is obsessed with tweeting and retweeting about the Pelosi haircut without a mask. Strange indeed, considering he has yet to say anything against the Maskless clan at his rallies, at Sturgis, at college parties or anywhere else. She was in a salon without other customers, right? I think he should worry more about the Maskless crowds, don't you? Oh, yeah, and Putin. What on earth is he holding on Trump? It must be big. America is in chaos, thousands are dying, and American Patriots (As Trump calls them) shouldn't be given a name that has nothing to do with being a Patriot. Just like that football team up north, the name is a joke.
Still goes to my point that if they are still trying to energize the base they are feeling desperate and not trying to gain back those suburban voters. Nobody persuadable cares about this stuff anymore.
I posted this in another thread During the NC rally, Trump reiterated his new plan that Mexico will pay for the wall via tolls. This is a new plan he has devised that he first mentioned a few weeks ago. Let's do some math. A low end cost for the wall is $10,000,000,000. Currently around 5,000,000 cars annually cross the border. At $1 a pop that's 2000 years. His base continues to eat this stuff up without thinking. Of course his ultimate plan is to make the toll so high, that Mexicans will refuse to pay and, thus, not enter the country.
I am assuming he is talking about commercial trucking. He will be able to charge more than $1 a pop. He can likely charge $10 to $20 so it can be paid off by 2100..... however what is lost in all that is the costs will only be passed onto the US consumer of goods from South of the border and it will disproportionately hurt places like Texas. it is a cute idea that I am sure some underling came up with, but as you said; the math doesn't add up.... but I guess math is fake news or alternative facts.
There are still the rumors about the pee pee tape but my guess is that Putin has some deeper knowledge of Trump's finances especially since Trump was very eager to do a Trump tower Moscow back in 2015.
They probably are feeling desperate. Trump himself probably thinks there are new voters to get out there but his staff probably looks at this as a base election with turnout being key.
Yep. Let's not forget that it isn't just the cost of wall construction. There is also going to be a lot of ongoing maintenance on the wall. I still don't buy that even if the money was there a wall could be built across the whole border.
First, they are not paying to travel on a toll road, they are paying to cross the border. Make it $20. That's $100,000,000/year. Still 100 years. That's with a low estimate for the wall. And...we all should know it's just another BS talking point for his base that will never come to fruition.
I just heard a report that the Trump campaign is having to spend money repairing the South Lawn after the using it (in violation of long standing policies) for the RNC. Since the RNC they haven't been able to use it for anything including landing Marine One. https://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/s...er-repair-after-white-house-stages-rnc-events South Lawn, Rose Garden under repair after White House stages RNC events WASHINGTON (AP) - The Rose Garden has been a muddy mess and the South Lawn marred by brown patches since President Donald Trump used them as backdrops for last month’s Republican National Convention. Both are undergoing extensive re-sodding as crews work to repair the damage, which was clearly visible this week and last. The Rose Garden repairs come just weeks after the White House completed a major renovation of the garden intended, in part, to improve drainage issues. “The sod is being replaced at no cost to taxpayers. Additionally, there has been other planned infrastructure work taking place on the south grounds,” said White House spokesman Judd Deere. He added that the work is expected to be completed by early Wednesday or Thursday, barring more bad weather. The president's reelection campaign is paying for the work. The damage comes after Trump upended long-held norms separating campaigning and governance by using the White House grounds as the stage for a partisan political event. First lady Melania Trump delivered her convention speech in the newly-refurbished Rose Garden and the president formally accepted his party's nomination on the South Lawn in front of more than a thousand people seated in rows of closely-packed white chairs, despite the ongoing pandemic. The Republican National Committee and officials in the East Wing of the White House, which oversaw the Rose Garden renovation, did not respond to questions about the damage. The White House noted that some sod replacement is not unusual after major events, including the annual Easter Egg Roll and major state visits, especially if heavy foot traffic follows heavy rain. And since the sod is already being replaced, some other upgrades are being done as well. The president delivered his televised acceptance speech the final night of the convention in front of an audience of about 1,500 people, according to organizers. The event featured a large stage, giant screens and other equipment set on the South Lawn, in front of the majestic Washington Monument, and was capped by an elaborate fireworks show. The first lady held her event earlier in the week in the Rose Garden following extensive renovations that included the removal of crab apple trees, the addition of a 3-foot (0.91-meter)-wide limestone walking path, as well as what had been described as improvements to the garden's drainage and broadcasting infrastructure. That work was paid for with private donations and approved by the Committee for the Preservation of the White House. Officials noted that setup for the event began just after the renovation and after a span of heavy rain, and suggested that the new sod may therefore not have taken as well as it should have. The day of her speech, Astroturf was placed over the garden lawn because it was deemed a swampy mess. Since the convention, the White House has avoided using the Rose Garden and South Lawn for public events. A Labor Day press conference was held in an unusual location — the White House's North Portico — because of the construction. The president has been driving to the Joint Base Andrews for his trips out of town instead of taking the Marine One helicopter from the South Lawn because of the ongoing work. His motorcade has also been loading and unloading along West Executive Avenue or the North Portico instead of the South Lawn driveway, which is currently blocked by equipment. Reporters covering White House events have been led through internal hallways instead of the West Wing colonnade to avoid being shown the mess.
How Donald Trump’s billion-dollar election campaign lost its cash advantage Reining in the Budget At the top of the whiteboard in Stepien’s office are the latest numbers on the campaign budget, and Stepien has instituted a number of changes since he was promoted from deputy campaign manager. A proposal to spend $50 million in costs related to coalitions groups was cast aside. An idea to spend $3 million for a NASCAR car bearing Trump’s name was discarded. The number of staff members allowed to travel to events has been pared back to avoid wh .. Read more at: https://economictimes.indiatimes.co...ofinterest&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=cppst
Yeah I know but I have not seen a dollar toll road in ages. And also would Mexico residents be the only ones to pay? Just poking you a bit.
