Haven't had a Luby's platter in a very long time...... Fuddruckers reminds me of after Little League (that and CiCi's Pizza).

I don't think I've ever been to a Luby's, and only been to Fuddruckers maybe once or twice, but .... daaaang.

I’m surprised places like Luby’s and Applebee’s have even lasted this long

with Covid, these restaurants should be done

senior citizens don’t strike me as the type to use Uber Eats to order some Luby’s

Damn, just as I'm reaching the proper age level for regularly eating at Luby's.

I don't know how much of a meme Luby's only being dined by senior clientele is... but unlucky for them.

Hit a Fuddruckers about 15 years ago for nostalgia purposes, it was pretty much like I remembered it. Solid burger, and they still ground their own meat and would let you order it medium rare, which was nice.

My folks liked Luby's back in the day, so I'd get to go every couple of weeks until I was old enough to say "nah, I'll just stay at home".

C19 killed off Lubys customer base. No surprise there.

    I do like fuddruckers.

Sad. I liked Fuddruckers. They made a solid burger, had fresh veggies, and potato wedges were decent.

I remember making Luby's run as a hungry student. There was another chain like it inside Austin strip malls but the name escapes me. Grandys?

Hoping Cicis toughs this one out

Fudd's has had a consistently decent burger at a decent price for many years. Nothing to write home about, but a solid go-to place for a good burger. I'm bummed to hear they're gonna die.

Growing up,, Luby's was the the only option by my house as a kid. So me, my sister, and my folks were regulars there. Love me some Luby's fried fish and I would always have to broker a deal with my mom to get me a piece of that jello.

Haven't been there in a while, but when I did I always felt that when looking at their clientele, some customer would be asking if they could tune the TV to Matlock

Dang, the only place you can get sugar free Jell-O now is a hospital. Seniors are about to hit up the hospital cafeterias
    That sugar free jello...?

Damn it. I will always remember the Chopped Steak with green beans and mashed potatoes (brown gravy) at Luby's. Served with a roll of bread and finishing it off with some jello!

    Luby's was the best.

I also liked Fudruckers but honesty I found their burgers too "try hard", whatever that means.

Don't know if there was more than 1 location, but Piccadilly in Memorial City Mall was the best cafeteria. They had hush puppies that were like crack to me as a kid.

I used to eat at the one in Gulfgate pretty often. Great rolls and they had some sort of potatoes that were kind of like hash browns, only they weren't. I loved them. Good desserts. The fish and chopped steak were good. Liked it better than Luby's and it was cheaper. My mother liked the place, so I would take her there pretty often. Great iced tea and they had the iced tea ladies. Those hush puppies were killer. I wonder if that chain still exists? Probably not.

Still around, not in Texas, but plenty in Louisiana.

Time for a @Buck Turgidson and @Deckard road trip?

Hope these are the only Pappas restaurants to bite the dust. Well, I at least want my favorite pappadeaux to stay a going concern.
