Can you imagine being the Chief of Staff for the U.S. Army (James C. McConville) and having to answer questions about the insane and asinine statement made by the president?
At the end of the day a lot of American's don't really give a damn about the military.... that is where the fools go because they have nothing else going on in life or because they are the suckers that will do the dangerous work for everyone else. This really isn't a big surprise to me... the "thank you for your service" line mostly echoed by the right (the left as well sometimes) is an empty gesture like saying hello to someone in the hall...... it is a "better you than me" mentality. At the end of the day money speaks and veterans, teachers, social workers and service industry employees mean very little.
I remember back in 2016 when some on the Left were arguing that Trump was to the Left of Clinton because she was a warmonger. Looking at Trump's record 4 years in he's been raising military spending and while he hasn't started any new wars he did ratchet up the conflict with Iran. Also Trump hasn't been quite bringing the troops home. After ISIS fell he redeployed those troops to guard Syrian oil fields and he deployed troops to Saudi Arabia after the Saudis paid $500 million. He has no trouble keeping and sending troops overseas for money and oil.
If it is false, why are the generals so quiet? Why hasn't John Kelly come forward? This fits a pattern for the President.... from his comments about John McCain, to his handling of Sgt. Johnson's death, to the handling of the Gold Star family...... to him not giving charitable funds raised for veterans, to veterans until the news got hold of it..... to his lies about the Veteran's Choice Act... and handling of the Russian bounties. Trump doesn't give a **** about veterans.... I don't know how many four star generals have to tell you, how many stories have to come out for you to get it...... although I suspect you know he doesn't give a ****, but it really isn't a priority to you..... and if so, that is your right.

Just for kicks, recently I tried to make an appointment to see a doctor for general checkups and they were able to schedule me for under 2 weeks, despite the pandemic and all. They made it clear for me, anytime I have a complaint of any kind, it will go straight to the office of the President and Mr Trump will hear from it. I’m a skeptical person in nature because in life there is a lot of BS and you have to decipher them for yourself, but even I was impressed how things are running with the VA healthcare under Mr Trump. I will believe the AP and facts. No offense.
I am sure there are people that mean it when they say it. There are people that had fathers and mothers in the military or lost loved ones for example. However, yes I do believe there are a lot of people that say it because they feel that they are supposed to say it and it doesn't mean anything.... I say that based on what I have observed.
