My Trumper neighbor came by my garage the other night when I was working on a project, and had a beer. In the conversation he got very animated and admitted that he has stocked up on multiple 100 round magazines, and said that if Trump gets elected, he's ready to go. Should I like... report that? It's crazy that in the moment I didn't really think much of it. This is not the first time a Trumper "friend" of mine who is armed to the teeth talks openly about taking violent action. I guess this question is best suited for people like @daschuda @Wattafan, etc. What do you guys want us to do when our Trump supporter friends openly talk about this? What would you do if your Neighbor came over, had a beer, and admitted they were Antifa & were armed and ready to go if Biden wins?
I had a similar experience with a Trump supporting friend. I tried to calm him down including letting him know that many people, myself included, weren't supporting the type of crazy agenda that he believed would happen if the a Democrat won. Anyway he quit listening and unfortunately I do worry about him.

Just keep that little bit of information for yourself and try not to piss him off. @rocketsjudoka He will not believe you. I have tried talking to a number of people I am close to that support Trump and they are convinced that Socialism is coming with the destruction of liberties. I have told them I would never support a true socialist or communist but most feel that I am naive or possibly in on the whole act.
Yep that was pretty much the case. I had known him for years through Judo and always thought he was a good guy and we never did talk politics much but he's one of these people that it seemed like once Trump got on the scene he go more radical. He's one of these guys who was talking a lot about "preparing" and the need to fight. In response to me pointing out that the person who ran over the protesters at Charlottesville was convicted of murder, he said sometimes you have to do the right thing no matter what the law says. Unfortunately he's cut off contact with me but I keep on fearing I'm going to read about him doing something stupid in the news.
Yeah I tried to make him feel a bit ridiculous in a friendly way. I said that the people he's worried about are people like me and my wife, a 39 year old school teacher. That if Trump wins, we'll take our Salt Gun for shooting flies up to Buccees and do some real damage. He chuckled and said "well at least I'm ready..." It wasn't that bad of a conversation honestly. It is just amazing how similar the grievances are with Bernie hardcore supporters, but without the white supremacy and love of Trump. In the end, it's working class people who feel like the elites have turned the country into a vacuum for sucking up their wealth to make themselves more rich and powerful. Yes, Trump supporters also believe that those "elites" are literally eating children, and satan worshipers, but in the end, it's amazing how similar the basic issues are. It's just a sign of where we are in this country. Working class people feel like they can't get ahead, and are turning on the ideal of the American dream. Trump supporters think the answer is giving Trump dictatorial power, are susceptible to right wing propaganda and blame all liberals ignorantly. While folks on the Progressive Left feel the same pain, but are torn about what if anything to do about it. Alot are disheartened that they don't have a messiah figure in this fight like the far right has, but I'd love to get the message to them that this is the point. That's why we are right about the answer NOT being a messiah figure that needs dictatorial power. That's just NOT the answer here and we should all be able to see why with my Trumper Neighbor ready to take up arms on his own fellow citizens to defend his leader.
Usually I'd just assume it's bluster, and maybe he'd go to the shooting range and go get drunk at Billy Bobs. This sounded like he'd likely join an online facebook group who would organize a response to a protest like we've seen in Portland, etc. Obviously most of those proud boys or whatever aren't doing anything other than trying to look like tough guys. In the end these guys are just scared cowardly white guys who are trying to make themselves feel like they have some sense of empowerment. But... if this was any other situation (let's say Antifa members making these claims) how would that be handled, and what would a Daschuda type say about that?

I know you don't support socialism or communism, but what if it is already at your doorsteps? I live right here North of Seattle and we have a confirmed communist by the name Savant in the city council.
There are always some extremists at the local level. I’m Texas we had politicians that wanted to end the separation of church and state... in some more liberal areas we have had democrat socialists and even full blown socialists. I have no interest in living in a communist nation (left), a fascist nation (right) nor a totalitarian dictatorship.
