3 out of 4 games, he has been the best player for the opposing side.
Can we afford to let him go 3 out of 4 doing the same crap? Im worried that it might be 4 out of 4 since the lakers main focus is Westbrick...
Hopefully MDA let Westbrick rot on the bench...if not, MDA and westbrick as well as fat Morey need to GTFO out of Houston.

We are better with him on the bench and letting EGo run the 2nd team when Harden is on the bench.

Y’all are ridiculous, this is the situation the team is stuck in. Westbrook is on a max salary so he has to play and he has to be better. We won’t win if Westbrook is benched, no chance. We also have no chance if he continues to play this poorly. The only way the rockets win is if Westbrook turns it around.

put him at the free throw line when Harden is doubled so he can get right to the rim with just a few dribbles or pass it to a shooter with a 4 on 3 situation...don’t spot him up behind the line

tell him to stop trying to drive into traffic all out of control...he never had the greatest handle and body control to begin with, but ever since the start of the bubble, and especially since he’s come back from the injury, his handle looks like a 6’3 Capela, and he plays like he has little to no skill...he dribbles like someone who hasn’t touched a basketball in months...matter of fact, his whole game looks like how a lot of people will look who didn’t have access to a hoop or didn’t play at all when basketball courts are finally open again after Covid...extremely rusty, no timing, and shooting an abundance of bad bricks

I think I have figured out what’s going on with
Westbrick he had Covid-19 he might be suffering from “Brain Fog” which is common with people that were De-symptomatic.
And maybe that’s why he said he is just running around.

LOL They're not sitting Westbrook. Stop.

I mean I guess you can hope he gets injured or re-aggravates his quad.

Two weeks ago "Did they make a mistake sitting Westbrook? Play Westbrook! Bring him back!

Fast forward: "JK Go back away Westbrick! We don't want you!"

You guys have to understand, almost no coach will bench their superstar player at the end of games, let a lone Dantoni.

Of course you play him, but can't be afraid to disappoint your stars on nights they don't have it and go with lineups that are excelling. Last night, we saw enough of Westbrook to know he should've sat late.

He cant throw the ball out of bounds, go 1-7 from 3, and let his man get layups when he is in foul trouble if hes on the bench. Dantoni only had all game to realize this and that we were way better with harden plus all shooters. But of course, md puts wb back in down the stretch, no surprise.

Don't underestimate his foul trouble. He was a liability on offense but because of his 5th foul at then end of Q3 on that Fostery call, he was limited defensively as well.

I'm ok with them believing in Westbrook even if it meant losing the game. Yanking him would cause more problems the rest of the series I feel.

Blew our wad trading for him.

    Paying him max money.

Restructured our roster to accommodate his shortcomings.

    He has to play.

And we will have to pray.

It's a package deal with Westbrook.

You get his passion, fire, drive, and competitiveness but you also get his dumb-assery, turnovers, and low IQ decision making with the ball.

You can get his relentless attacking of the basket which puts a lot of pressure on defense but you can also get his 3 point brick barrage which tightens the defense around the rest of his teammates.

You can get a superstar game from him but you can also get blooperstar one from him.

    He can be a game-changer but also a game-breaker.

You dont get to chose what you get once you chose to bring him in.

If you roll the dice with him on your roster then you roll the dice every time he steps on the court.

You dont get to unleash the beast but then also control the beast.

Having said that, it is a game of probabilities. Unfortunately he does not have the timing, rhythm, and explosiveness due to coming off of injury. And because of that there is a higher probability we will get dud games out of him more than not this playoffs.

If he was healthy, we would be getting more superstar games from him than not.

Also, his personality is such that he does not know when to dial it down. Even if he is struggling, he will push the issue, which leads to him making more errors. It's a vicious cycle.

I wish we could take some of Westbrook's fire and put it in Harden and take some of tentativeness from Harden and put it in Westbrook.

a controlled Russ is the best for us. when he's out there like a headless chicken running around, that really hurt our flow.
hope he control his pace a bit next game.

Sitting him for further games, for any extended period, would not be a good move.

If he sits and the Rockets win without him: This would destroy Westbrook's confidence. His ability to shoot is already in question. The team winning without him would further erode that ability, mentally. And for how long do you sit him for? Until we lose a game? Until we lose 2 games? It would muck up the rotation.

If he sits and the Rockets lose without him: Clutchfans will do a 180 and threads like "WHY DIDN'T WE PLAY OUR MVP?" or "I have grown to hate MDA" will pop up. Everyone will be questioning why the Rockets didn't play one of their MVPs.

We can’t sit him or else we’ll only have a 6 man rotation with MDA as our coach. With or without him, small ball every other day with such a limited rotation isn’t going to work.

Play him. I have no doubt in him bouncing back. We need his energy, and fighting for rebounds. He just needs to get back to what he does best, and not take 3 pt shots.

The team can't win a title without him, so you play him and hope you get the good Westbrook. When he's playing the way he was from Jan-Mar, this is a team that can win a title. When he's not - or when he's not playing - this team won't win anything. That makes the choice really easy.

I don't know if it's the injury or if he is getting old. That one play when Harden threw an alley oop to him and he couldn't even grab the ball was telling. He lost his hop. You can also tell that he doesn't dunk much nowadays. He does layups where he used to stuff it. That's how LeBron blocked him so easily.

I hope it's the injury and he will get it back. If this is the starting of his physical decline, which I have been worried about ever since we heard of the trade, then we can just wait for the end of the tanking period after Harden retires.
