This is such an overrated talking point. On most of those "possessions", AD was making a swing pass outside the 3pt line. Remind me....how did our "best defense in the playoffs" do against AD in game 2?
You are the idiot for not understanding a conversation. THE ROCKETS WILL LIVE WITH AD SHOOTING MID RANGE JUMP SHOTS, they will force him out of the block. I’m sorry you just can’t understand this
Overrated? But you use usage rate as a stat? AD had 10 total touches more than game 1 while not playing in crunch time in game 1. He was just as much a part of the game in game 1 as he was 2. Rockets defended better and played passing lanes better in game 1. Game 2 AD shot more and didn’t pass out as much.
In game 1, Harden had a +/- of 0. Based on your logic, he was not a factor in our win. Again, you're an idiot.
Strawman logic isn’t going to cut it buddy. You have to be the worst kind of dumb, you don’t even realize how stupid you are. Was Harden negative? You really don’t want to go down advanced stats comparing AD to Harden.
Also in game 1 AD shot 29% on contested shots, game 2 he shot 60% He played better, but it’s still what the Rockets would accept. His scoring isn’t as big a factor to the outcome.
That's your logic. You used AD's +/- as an argument that he wasn't a factor in their win. So that's a valid argument when talking about AD, but not about Harden? Are you too stupid to recognize your own argument? Not surprising.
Watch the games. A lot of AD's game 1 "touches" were swing passes on the perimeter. He was FAR more involved in the offense in game 2.
Yep, in game 1, AD was clearly frustrated at his lack of attempts so he eventually started forcing bad shots whenever he DID get the ball. I made this observation earlier in the thread. I suggest you watch the games.
No, that’s not my argument. It’s what you don’t understand. AD performance is not an indicator of team success against the Rockets.
Thats not how touches work dummy, they track passes too and they were very similar. He took and made more contested jump shots. That’s the only thing he did more of. And was a net negative in the second half
Again, you’re wrong. There’s this pesky thing called stats that don’t favor what you’re saying. He took 7 total contested shots in game 1 and hit 2. Game 2 he took 15 and hit 9
Yeah that’s pretty clear what I said for the competent. You’re saying as AD goes, the Lakers go. It’s just not true lol
Can you explain to me how "contested shots" work? In game 1, there was a sequence where he scored three isolation baskets in a row. It starts at the 37 second mark. Why wouldn't these three baskets be considered "contested"?
Try to stay on point here. AD had a -7, and you claimed he was a non-factor in game 2 because of this. Harden had a +/- of 0 in game 1. According to your logic, wouldn't this mean that Harden was also a non-factor in game 1?
Reading comprehension is paramount to an honest discussion. I said AD performance (as long as the rockets are forcing jump shots) is not a factor on why the Lakers will win. The rockets will gladly accept him taking jump shots, what is tough to deal with is 3s (not many yet) and second chance points.
