..... for MDA haters. LOL "His favorite saying is, 'So what, what’s next?' " Rockets forward P.J. Tucker said. "If something happens, 'What’s next?' That was a bad play, 'What’s next?' We don’t harp on things in the past. We always are looking to get better and looking to the future." https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/5732629002?__twitter_impression=true
There will be a figure he and the owner are willing to spend and they will stick to it. Professing a strong desire to bring him back doesn’t change that. We know how the Rockets operate.
It's not up to Morey. Brokeman will offer a low salary with stupid or unachievable incentives. Other teams are desperate to find a quality coach and will pay top dollar. Our only advantage is MDA is up there in age and doesn't want to rebuild. He's got two superstars here and an identity. Time will tell
Coming back in what capacity? In an advisory/leadership without all the travel and what not, yes please. There is not much he can’t AND hasn’t done after winning the championship this year, but how long will he be willing to do it is the better question. Would love to see him get his ring, cement his legacy and retire as championship coach.
MDA of course. They love him and will run through walls for him, all the Rockets feel that way. You should listen to their interviews, it's always positive towards MDA.
Would have been great if he said the same things at a Game 7 loss against OKC. One journalist suggested immediate sacking, the same day.
Morey will be negotiating with MDA as a legit free agent so I would doubt MDA comes back. The Rockets always throw stuff out about who they want to sign, basically everyone. but refrain from mentioning the bargain basement prices they want to spend. The classic headline of "The Rockets are interested in" <insert player here>.
If we even make this a series...as in to game 6-7, then you have to try this again. Russ is still not 100 perent, and hasn't had the game time he needs. I love our style of play right now. I think the only thing I would change is allowing Harden to take a mid range now and then. That would be about it.
Once again, it'll be a test of wills between Tilman and MDA. Tilman will offer 1 year, MDA will demand at least 3. The big question: Can they settle for 2 years and a company car?
Anything short of at least getting to the finals, and what most will seem to want is his head. If we get to the finals, especially if we win, they will want a statue in his honor, give him keys to the city, and pronounce him the best coach ever since Rudy T.
