Trump takes credit for McCain-Sanders veterans bill signed by Obama: “One of my greatest honors” Trump falsely claims leaders "tried for decades" to pass the bill but "failed." Obama signed it into law in 2014 https://www.salon.com/2020/01/02/tr...ll-signed-by-obama-one-of-my-greatest-honors/ President Donald Trump falsely claimed that one of his "greatest honors" was helping pass a veterans health bill, which was actually authored by the late Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and signed into law by former President Barack Obama. "One of my greatest honors was to have gotten CHOICE approved for our great Veterans," Trump incorrectly claimed in New Year's Eve tweet. "Others have tried for decades, and failed!" It is a lie which has been repeated in the past by Trump.
Do you really think a giant Bureaucracy changes from Executive edict? It takes legislation and years of management and oversight.
My favorite part is melanie wading in to trump's defense. First, no one can realistically believe she wrote the tweet defense. But second, she should be asked about trump's defense that he was so disappointed he couldn't go that he called her at home. Since she was shopping in Paris during the same trip as trump. Maybe a reporters can confirm it wasn't the Real Doll (tm) that trump often travels with for, er, um, "companionship".
This is the perfect example of the fake news that I’m talking about. I’ve used the VA as a patient twice before Mr Trump was president and had a horrible experience each time. I have also worked closely with the VA in TX for our wounded veterans and had hospital privileges right up to 2018, that’s when I retired and moved here to Washington State. Obama had 8 fukking years to make it right for our vets and things were the absolute worst under his watch because he and Biden give no shiet to our vets. We all have heard the scandal about neglecting our vets, to the point of many were dying because it would take them up to 6-8 months just to see a doctor. Mr Trump was the one that makes it right for our vets with the recent changes that I’ve just witnessed for myself. You doofus loonies now are giving Obama credit for this just like the economy. You Trump haters will stoop so low, I’m just amazed there are actual people like you that exist.
So, exactly what did Trump do? What I'm telling you is that the systemic change began with the 2014 legislation and has taken years to reshape the bureaucracy. There are almost 400,000 people associated with the VA and at least half hate Trump. Do you think he can move that radically with an Executive order or even a military order as CIC?
Unlike you I don’t need any of those sources including your fake news that seems to be a gospel to you when all things concerning Trump. My personal experiences are my own, I have lived them, it’s called the real world.
The best part of this thread will be the 180s from the vocal Trump supporters when Trump confirms he hates the troops and veterans and his supporters will be like “we always hated the troops”. Because Lord knows this won’t be the thing to break their loyalty. Only an L in November can do that.
So... since Obamacare was a life saver to millions of people across the USA, you think Obama was a great President and folks that don't think that are "doofus loonies".
Tell me any of your personal experiences dealing with the VA? If you have some than I am all ears, as I’m literally begging the vets in here to tell me their own. In the meantime, if you don’t and just pull opinions out of hidden orifices than thanks for playing. I told you what Trump did for our vets already and you still don’t want to hear it. Trump has been very consistent with his support for our vets even before he ran for president. I, being ever the pragmatist, just rolled my eyes and chalked it up like the things people say to get elected. When he became president, real positive changes were happening and that’s why I shared my own personal story. Obama never gave a crap about our vets and I have seen first hand how the VA was run under him. I don’t want to put all the blame on him because it goes way back to his predecessors, but it was the absolute worst under his watch. I worked with the VA under Clinton and W and it was pretty bad also.
Never have a conversation with the guy who thinks Obamacare is the greatest thing since slice bread and it saves lives. Lol
There are millions of people who can now afford or better afford insurance that couldn't in the past. I know plenty of them.
The piling on continues, enjoying the next two months, you folks are going to be in it for another long 4 years. I shutter to think if I have to be you with this much hate for one person. I could not stand Obama when he was president, but he never dominated my every thought and fiber the way what Trump is doing to you guys.
DId you tell me what Trump actually did for the VA? And really, figure it out. Were pretty normal people, we don't go looking for a reason to hate. Most people on here provide documentation of statements, present just left of center opinions not really out of the mainstream for people who care to post. Why do you think we are so passionately opposed top Trump? Because we are radicals that hate America? No, we love democracy and the representation of the people. We don't want lying, we don't want bravado in the place of consideration, we don't want gut calls over science, we don't want autocracy from our Executive, it's an administrative position not a monarch ruling by edict er, tweet. We want civility, compassion and reason, over even any political position. Wild eyed radicalism!
You could not stand a guy who helped millions of people get health insurance that otherwise couldn't afford it? Yet, you call non Trump supporters "doofus loonies" even though he did good things for you (and I assume others) as a veteran? Ahhh..... the irony.
