However it looks like the two teams espn favored the bucks and raptors both look bad.

    Jerry Bembry: Lakers in 6

    Nick DePaula: Lakers in 6

    Nick Friedell: Lakers in 7

    Kirk Goldsberry: Lakers in 6

    Andrew Han: Lakers in 6

    Andrew Lopez: Lakers in 6

    Zach Lowe: Lakers in 6

    Tim MacMahon: Lakers in 7

    Bobby Marks: Lakers in 5

    Dave McMenamin: Lakers in 7

    Kevin Pelton: Lakers in 6

    Jorge Sedano: Lakers in 6

    Ramona Shelburne: Lakers in 6

    Andre' Snellings: Lakers in 7

Marc J. Spears: Lakers in 5

    Jesse Washington: Lakers in 5

    Eric Woodyard: Lakers in 6

    Royce Young: Lakers in 6

    Ohm Youngmisuk: Lakers in 6

    Final tally: Lakers (20).

Also Vegas gives the rockets ~20% chance of winning. I think their real odds are probably closer to 50% it would be good to put some money on the rockets.

Are we really surprised though? We have yet to see how small ball will fair against a team with legit size and skill. To the contrary, Houston struggled with teams like OKC who have excellent perimeter players. LAL were the better team in the regular season and we just barely beat an overachieving OKC team. Forget media bias, how can we really choose HOU to win this series especially when small ball has not been tested in a 7 game series against a team like LAL with AD and Bron?

I am happy about this. Takes ALL the pressure off of us.

I am always happier as the underdog. When you're expected to win, the losses hurt WAY worse. This allows me to actually enjoy the games. Though, I don't think I've enjoyed a playoff series since the mid 2000s. After that Jazz loss back in like 07, they've all just been emotional killers. Especially since I don't watch much other sports, the summer hiatus is usually hell for me.

the NBA wants a Clippers-Lakers WCF, so ref fckery will be through the roof this series

NBA could be looking at a Lakers-Celtics finals...Adam Silver’s been Birdman rubbing his hands all week

If the rockets had nuggets record, and showed more domnation threw out the small sample size in bubble, maybe they would of got a few people say rockets, but comon there playing the best team in the west with man name lebron on it, if you were not a rocket homer and you lived in philly you probably vote the same. They barely got passed OKC.

ESPN doesn't matter to me. 538 matters a bit more. Their raptor projections are interesting and their analytics for predicting games is, too. I may like them more because Harden is tops in WAR on their site by a mile.

Anyway, 538 has the Rockets with a 62% chance of getting to the conference finals. Shhhh.....

    The Lakers should be favored.

The Lakers are well rested and likely have spent quite a bit of time breaking down the Rockets.

The Lakers have arguably the second best player to ever live in the tail end of his prime and the best post player in the league with AD.

The Rockets have a banged up point guard and Harden that is having his own issues.

The referees also will favor the Lakers.

If I had to bet my house on this series, I would give the Lakers an 80% chance to win this series...... but odds are a funny thing; as 1 in 5 isn't THAT remote.

When was the last time we were not favored to win a series and we won? Not "We sure gave them a good fight!", but actually won the series.

Based on the sizes and our performance On the OKC series, of course. But we have two MVPs on the team and they are hungry. Again I like us being the underdog. That said we do need to win at least one of the first two games.
