This song and video has even more of a feel of a mashup.

It's the worst. You should see the debates about which metal subgenre is the best. It's sad. I know this because I used to participate. There are also sub-subgenres of course, so that adds to the fun.

Death Metal >>>>> all other subgenres and it isn't even close. Black metal is gimmicky **** and if you disagree then you're an idiot child.

    What is avant-garde metal?

I always thought Prong was an awesome band.

I honestly don't know. I always thought of it as progressive metal, but since none of these terms are official they can mean anything to anyone.

Weird as it sounds, I don't have a ton of time for music these days. At least not music that requires active listening. I only have time for background music while I'm doing other stuff.

These days I really only listen to 3 metal bands, and it's because they were my favorite bands 10+ years ago: Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, and Gojira. Although Devin Townsend (and the recent songs from Gojira) probably wouldn't have even been considered metal by 18 year old Haymitch.

“I do want to point out that Finland has perhaps the most heavy metal bands in the world per capita and also ranks high on good governance, I don’t know if there’s any correlation there.”

I realize this is a joke but I am weak and pathetic.

Doom metal is the worst, and nobody tops Sweden when it comes to metal.

Bot Nad it's interesting combo of music that seems to work.

I was just thinking about this thread and Ghostmane and this thread was back up top -- I looked at his wiki and his nickname is Baader-Meinhof.
