Everyone's nitpicking Harden's game, or talking about how much of a POS Foster is, or how Gordon stepped up at the right time, or how trading for WB was a mistake, etc etc. All worthwhile points of discussion to a degree, but I believe there's a forest through these trees:

    - Yes Harden had a [mostly] trash game
    - Yes Foster continues to try his damnedest to screw us
    - Yes Paul and even freaking Lu Dort lit us up

    HOWEVA

    - We still won a game 7 against a very good and highly motivated team that is deadly in crunch time (even if it shouldn't have gotten that far)

While I'm done getting my hopes too high with this team, especially as long as Foster is employed, and I don't know what our chances are against LA... I do believe those chances very much exist, and that's all that matters.

    Also this:

Harden doesn't need to be Lebron James or Michael Jordan to be a player worth our appreciation and respect.

I thought that Harden reversed the narrative in the last few minutes of the game. He gutted it out and did what it took to win. That's a mark of a great player. If your shot is not falling, can you pick up your game in other ways to secure the win in a touch playoff game 7.

People that didn't watch the game will point to the stat line, but the key message of that game is that Harden dragged the Rockets to victory in the last few minutes by doing a little bit of everything.

Dont let some of these casual fans on here get to you bro. These fools are the type of guys who watch sportscenter before talking with the boys just to pretend like they know something.

Rockets beat a good defensive team that got 50+ more fta than them
Rockets won with the #1 Bubble defense
Rockets won a game 7 on the backs of 2 players not named Russ and Harden
Russ still not back to being Russ and Rockets still won
Russ played the best defense he has ever played in game 7
Harden was terrible on offense but his defense is what saved the game (not just on the last play)
Rockets won this game 7 despite the league trying to screw them

A lot of stuff people failing to see that may help the Rockets against the Lakers.

Harden will never make the majority happy. It's the new era where everyone is either a hopeful potential or an Overrated POS. There seems to be very little to no in between. "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

It be funny if rockets level of intensity was so high they blow out Lakers in game 1. It would be something else.

We won a game 7 when Scott Foster was the referee. He was up to his usual **** and we still found a way to win. This is different now. This isn't the same as years gone by.

    Cool on Foster is that:

    a) he only called that backcourt violation on OKC after Dantoni said so
    b) he increasing the shot clock in the final seconds. You hear an whistle? that means another second for OKC.

I was inspired that Harden gutted it out. He didn't pout and instead played some incredible D and made the right plays. The game was ugly but he was pretty controlled at the end.

I don't understand what people expect in a game 7. Would have been great if we blew them out, but I'm happy we hung in there and took the game with our defense.

maybe that will be an advantage from such a quick turnaround. Lakers out here smoozing with their bubble guests having pizza parties and sh*t. Rockets are still wired from a franchise saving game 7 win.

    This.

His 3 wasn’t falling (1-9) and the referees were not calling fouls on penetration to the bucket.... in the past he would either turn the ball over a dozen times or he would get frustrated. Instead he swallowed his ego and stayed positive. He set up his teammates, protected the ball and worked his ass off on defense. He made sure he impacted the game. That is what great players do. You stop them at one thing they do well and they find another way.

I agree, in some ways I enjoy these scrappy off-night wins more than blowouts. Shows poise and experience.

Even the stat line was not so bad .

9 assist to 4 turnovers isn’t spectacular but it’s also not horrific . Maybe slightly better than CP3’s 12:6 mark .

plus if PJ knocks down a three here or there and James could buy a 3 or some ft’s then it’s starting to look like a 25/10 game with blocks and steals and low-ish turnovers .

the guy has played very well all series . We really did dominate the thunder outside of a few key situations and imo the refs spotted
OKC about 50 points in our first 3 losses . Maybe 5-10 pt OKC advantage in G7 .

It was actually TWO backcourts on that play, even if you say Adams never had control one of their players jumped from the front court to the back court to catch it...in the air...so he would have been backcourt too.

Agree Harden finished the game far better than the previous 3 and a half quarters.

1st thing he said when interviewed on court post game was "I played like ****".

My biggest gripe of Harden that game was how quiet he was on the bench.
I really wouldve loved to see him cheering, coaching and bringing energy (the same way Westbrook did when he was injured).
    Hardens done that before.

Here's the thing for me: I would have been much more thrilled by last night's huge Game 7 victory if I honestly thought we should have needed 7 games to put the Thunder away.

This was a 5- or 6-game series that somehow went to 7 games. We played a good team who battled hard, but if have honest hopes of winning it all this year, there should never have been a Game 7 against these turds.
