It’s odd how few blocks & steals Giannis has for someone with that sort of length. He has 5 blocks and 4 steals through 7 playoffs games This year Giannis 66blk 61stl Davis 143blk 91stl Covington 93blk 115stl Harden 60blk 125stl
Therefore all Hail Kawhi. Let's forget everything else. Fun fact. Toronto is almost as good without Kawhi.
apparently standing in the corner and watching luka tear your teammates apart instead of guarding him yourself doesn't help your defensive rating.
Dort had no clue that James could and would actually get there on the closeout. I think he underestimated Harden's quickness AND his determination on that play.
Maybe part of it is the way the game is played today? In the "old" days, shot blockers were basically taught to go after every single thing, plus there were a ton of blocks from the weak side on post up plays. The game doesn't really resemble that anymore. Maybe Giannis is told to not go for everything to stay out of foul trouble? Also, anyone surprised that the Heat could win with Butler having a pretty mediocre game? I thought he'd have to repeat what he did in game 1 for them to have a chance.
lol, i was pretty indifferent to giannis this year, but after all his trash talk and antics, i'm glad to see his weaknesses come to the surface. so much for defensive player of the year ... I doubt jimmy woulda made that well-contested fade with matthews on him anyway. but shrugs.
1.1 secs left I don't think dude has the luxury to fake that shot plus he isn't exactly Steph Curry to be faking game winning 3s.
And for the ignorant, lower D rating is better. It sad that this has to be explained on CF of all places but after all the braindead threads that have popped up recently it had to be done.
He had time. That's why I pointed it out. The clock stopped after the shot block with 2.7 seconds left. If you're a poor outside shooter, you have a defender flying at you, and your team is down 1 with 3 or 4 seconds left on the clock, a veteran player would likely shot fake and either shoot or dribble and shoot. He's a pro, so I'm sure it's something he's done, but pulling it off in playoff game 7 is a different thing.
