    Totally unexpected.

At least not with the Worriers no more.

7 second and less type decision.

Stephen A Smith is upset that a white guy with no head coaching experience gets this job. But, the Nets have hired many black head coaches in the past. So, I really don’t have an issue with it. Nash isn’t just some random white dude picked off the street.

Nash does fall into a great situation with a team with two superstars.

I had a feeling Stephen A Smith would get angry. I would be more upset that he has no coaching experience and you passed up other names, but he is Steve Nash and it's going to be interesting to see what offense he runs. D Antoni part 2 ?

Steve Kerr had no experience too. I like the hire... Nash always impressed me as one of the smartest players and seems to have the personality and charisma to succeed. Better this hire than retreading out the same ol' same ol.

btw... I have always wondered why John Stockton never got into coaching... but then I suspect he lacked the personality and charisma part.

I am betting Juwan Howard is going to get a shot soon (he has assistant coach and college head coach experience).

Stockton is a very private person. Coaching wouldn't suit him at all. He likes watching his kid play and spending time with his family

Gentry got canned right? So Nash is what? 1 of 3 African American coaches in the nba?

I wonder if The Rockets were considering Nash as a MDA replacement?

I think Nash can be a pretty good NBA coach but to start your coaching career with a oft-injured prima donna as your starting point guard? It might not end well.

1st coaching job comes with championship expectations plus fake woke Kyrie and overemotional KD as your “leaders”

    good luck Steve

He's going to need excellent assistant coaches. Especially if he was reticent to take the job in the first place. Plus, the vibe I get from him is a bit too casual for head coaching. Can't imagine that he'll be able to put in the work required to be a great NBA head coach. Possible, but unlikely.

I don't remember what his thoughts are when the topic was Becky Hammond becoming an NBA head coach, but I'm pretty sure he was probably applauding it. Doubt he mentioned the lack of black head coaches.

He's going to run the "get the ball to KD" offense. If that fails, then his backup is the "get the ball to Kyrie" offense.
