I think the thread is relevant and rightly holds those in power to the rules. There were pages of discussion of Cruz not wearing a mask when drinking coffee. This is a more clear and deliberate "laws for thee" infraction.

 

The issue is that Pelosi wasn't really breaking any rules. Some conspiracy about blow dryers not being allowed created a narrative saying she violated state regulations. Also you are allowed to go to salons on appointment only where they allow one customer in at a time which she did.

It goes against my instinct to defend Pelosi btw.

Much like climate change, those that want to control our behavior, purportedly for our own benefit, don't live by the controls they impose on the rest of us.

Did you read the convo? Pelosi claimed she was setup. And she was. The salon owner is fighting for her livelihood. If the old bag, who represents the vast majority of deaths feels comfortable braving the dangerous COVID world, then maybe others should be allowed to take the risk,especially if they are in the very low risk pool.

Not much to see here. I get why the conservatives are calling her a hypocrite, albeit pointless. I just not sure why so many others are defending her action when she was clearly in the wrong.

So she went into a private salon room and the owner is upset? Then why did the owner allow her in to the salon in the first place? That makes no sense.

Remember each city has a different rule. In Houston salons have been open for months.
In San Francisco, you were not allowed to open indoors and get a blow dry either.

In his video he mentions his wife had to close her salon due to loss of business due to covid, and is pissed that Pelosi broke the rules in that city cause she's the speaker of the House

Also the owner of the salon rents out space in salons, each hair dresser is an independent contractor.
It's not supercuts. each hair dresser can charge whatever they want.

Yes but why is the Salon owner allowing hairdressers to rent out rooms if it's against the rules? And why would they be so pissed if they are making money? Seems like he should be pissed at the hairdresser for breaking the rules, not Pelosi.
