People don't even feel it yet. We traded control over our picks until 2027 for this swap. This pain will linger for nearly a decade.

We get worse in the short term, and in the long term. I blame Tilly, and as much as I love him, as bad of a mother ****er he is on the court, Harden.

Tillmans a broke boi jackass, but I expected better from Harden, he put comfort, and friendship before winning. Shooting himself, the entire rockets organization, and the city of Houston in the foot.

    O'well.

The best outcome would have been Paul, Harden, Butler and an even worse supporting cast.

    It is what is.

I think we always end up with some freakin gimmick of a game plan, and all 3s and layups ish with mediocre shooters and mediocre athletes minus Westbrook.

You do not appease the Bball Gods by sacrificing mediocre assets.

I applaud the Defense, the only silver lining left. I think Elston Turner is responsible.

But their stamina won't hold up for more than 2 quarters.

I truly believe we were a hammy away from a ring in 2018. A hammy away from dethroning arguably the GOAT team of all time. A hammy away from knocking off Lebron. From legitimizing the legacy of Harden, CP3, MDA, and Morey.

    Life is life.

Naw, the Warriors went on to sweep them with an insane 15+ ppg differential, Irving was out. The Rockets were legit that year when everybody was healthy.

True, yet Cavs played well in Gm 1 if not for that JR play. Precursor for the series.

So, we allow for the injury excuse for CP3, but we completely ignore the fact that if CP3 was in the same position as Russ, he wouldn’t even be playing in this series at all?

You then insult the reader’s intelligence further by claiming the pick from 2027 will haunt us, even though in all but the unlikeliest scenarios, CP3 will be out of the league and Russ will still be a valuable contributor,

Listing the types of bias and fallacious logic in your post would literally take me all day.

Players should do slam dunk, if they keep missing the shoot. Leborn always use this method to get and one.

Yes, still a 100%. Cannot stand CP3 and Westbrook is injured, so we're not getting the best version. Harden having a friend on the team he finally gets along with and has a different skillset was much needed, even if I would've rather traded Harden for a guy like Murray and some other role players. I don't believe in catering to your superstar like this, but it is what it is.

If we didn't have Westbrook on the floor last night, would Harden let someone else handle the ball in the last possession?

The Russ trade was moronic then, it has been moronic, and it will continue to be moronic. There will never be justification for it. It set the franchise back years.

People got hyped because Westbrook was averaging 30 in random January games. They really thought he "turned the corner". A seldom few said to wait until playoffs, where his game collapses because he lacks basketball IQ, as evidenced by the last 4 postseasons.

And here we are...in a dogfight with the team that robbed us blind in the first round...

You are right, Hamptons 5 was only pushed by 1 team only, the 65 win Rockets. That 65 win team was clearly led by Harden, Paul was Harden's Robin. And not giving credit to MDA to figure a system to showcase 2 ball dominant guards is shallow, not mention ignorant. Every expert said it would NOT be successful, I'm sure that slipped your mind right? Not only were Rockets successful but Rockets led the entire NBA in wins. Both MDA and Morey deserve SOME credit for this.

But you are correct, KD-Russ only pushed the champion GSW (without KD but still had 2× MVP Steph and 2 all stars in Klay, Draymond plus Finals MVP Iggy).

GSW was still the best team in the West at that time and KD-Russ Thunder had them on the ropes 3-1.

    Yes

    1. Chris Paul doesn't like Harden
    2. Russ does like Harden

The real Chris Paul choking on a mid range he makes 99% of the time

    Russ was a superstar today

I was against the trade when it happened and my opinion hasn't changed. It was a bad trade.

If the trade is actually gonna work out for us, now is when we find out.

As is, we gave up a ton of assets and took on more long term salary to be no better, possibly worse, than we were last season. Never liked the trade, still don't (although I hate it a little less now), but I would be absolutely thrilled to be proven wrong.

I wasn't for the trade at the time, but I'm OK with it now. We'll see how it plays out this year.
