Clutchfans Game Thread: Rockets @ Thunder 8/31/2020 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 6)

Would a game 7 loss signal the end for Morey and MDA? Have you heard any rumblings about blowing up the team? PJ is old. James will be 32. Same with Westbrook. It’s not like we have a team full of young guys.

 

If you are pulling for your team to lose, so you dont have to endure the future potential comments of some people on the internet... maybe you need to step away for a minute...

I think there's way too much talk about the last few minutes, and not enough about the overall game.

Our offense has been consistently on par with theirs in the past 5 games, even the game we blew them out is because of a 3 minute run in the third where we capitalized on a few turnovers.

We have been trading baskets with them the entire series, and they are very much offensively challenged and one of the worst 3 point shooting teams in the league. It's really the defense that has kept us afloat.

That's just a red flag right there imo because if you went all out on small ball, you should be at least above the team on the offensive end. Instead we are pretty much even.

 

russ is a ticking time bomb for game 7.

he could easily go out there over compensating and go 4/20 with 6 turnovers trying to do too much.

 

What a bs loss.

You can't win being so careless with the rock.

We better win game 7 game r its going to be beyond embarrassing

If Game 7 is close, we are doomed.

 

Harden is going to explode next game...

we'll win - but the series shouldnt have gone on this long...

and I dont have a high level of hope against LA - if were having this much trouble with 'washed up' Chris Paul and what was expected to be a lottery team...

 

I don't want us to lose. But the constant nitpicking and b****ing about one player is annoying as ****. It's the same thing every time we lose.... it's on James Harden! These guys are nowhere to seen when we're winning. Take a look after game 5..... Harden has an efficient game, barely any mistakes, carries us to the win..... but the guys who are b****ing about him now, they weren't even here praising him after that game.

 

Easily content coach draws up lazy plays.

 

Soooo explosive, at the top of his game, so close to greatness. Clearly a different player now, passing out to the closest shooter that bricks their next wide open 3. What can I say, we had our chances. Dan Marino is still an all time QB. Be happy that you had the chance to watch him play for your favorite team.

 

The point isn't praising someone, you challenge him to greater things.

If you are always content with making 2nd round or WCF, you're not going to win it.

Fans have to stay hungry for more too.

 

Eric Gordon is 8/43 from 3 in the series!!!!!!

Lu Dort is 7/38!

 

This is Chris Paul as a person. For years he was a borderline choker... he is a very petty person, but uses it to motivate him... he is taking this serious personal. He is taking the Rockets trade personal.... James hasn’t taken it personal... but CP3 has and his comments are just the beginning. If he wins this series he will take passive aggressive shots at Harden and Morey and the Rockets for years.

Maybe James needs to take it personal. Maybe James needs to look at MDA and tell him to give him the damn ball. He has done it before and sometimes he has succeeded and sometimes he has failed.... he has overall had a great series, but it is nut up time.... put the Thunder away and shut up CP3 or let him get over you forever.

The Lakers have a lot of suspect playoff performers too. AD has a lot to prove and I have seen LeBron not want the ball, turn it over and almost lose a couple Finals.

Having said that, I don’t have confidence... either Harden will come out and be a monster while everyone else holds their dicks watching or Harden will not score the last two minutes or the Rockets incredibly over paid and over rated duo of dummies Westbrook/Gordon will get destroyed on defense or turn the ball over.

 

yup, if we don't have a 20 point cushion, we probably lose. This team is full of boneheads as proven by this series

 

Russ really needs to step jacking up long 2's early on the shot clock.

 

Or drop a 30 pt tripple double.

Tuckers Corner three has to produce more. Honestly they need BMac a little more

 

iTs ReFs FaUlT... Harden was 1/6 in 4th with 3 turnovers. He can win 60 meaningless games. When its time to show up in g6/g7 in tough playoff game he ALWAYS dissapeared. ALWAYS. Not even once he went bezerk... And then its always people like you blaming it on the refs, hes tired, coach, co-star player etc

you cant teach old dog new tricks and Harden is a playoff choker, its not going away

 

game 7 cause d'antoni refused to call a timeout in game 3. I'll watch game 7, but i'm not getting any hopes up.

 

Dort needs to work with him in the off-season.
