James Harden is quietly having his best playoff run as a Rocket

I can understand giving up 1 game to the Thunder especially when you had several costly defenses lapses in crunch time and fouled out in game 3. You’d think that would fire him up to win the next game by any means. One would hope to think when the games on the line Harden would finally show up and prove that he’s not just a regular season guy but a clutch performer in playoff games and have his signature moment. For the supposed MVP and best player on the floor he sure is quiet when it matters most. Heading into the 4th quarter of game 4 the score was 93-94.

In the 4th Harden was 3-7 for 7 points, 2 shooting fouls and 2 TO’s. 3 of those misses were from 35 ft, 28 ft and 27 ft. Harden apologists and die-hard fans will blame the teammates, coaching, refs and anything else besides Harden. But he wasn’t good enough to carry us to a win. Best player on the court? Best offensive player in the history of the game? Not when it matters the most.

Coaching staff, front office, are some of the most underrated parts of the NBA.

A lot of the great players of the NBA only started winning championships after being coached by one of the great coaches.

Really, it's not directly trying to discredit what you wrote, I definitely do agree that Harden needs to improve. It just doesn't mean coaching has nothing to do with it because it certainly does.

 

I think Harden has some severe bad habits precisely because he had MDA and McHale as coaches for the past 7 years who really let Harden play without much accountability..I don't think he would be like this if he had someone like JVG or Pop as coach for the past several years.

I'm reminded of the GSW v LAC series. Warriors had 3 all-stars and Clippers had none. 6-game series.

In this Houston OKC series, each team has 1 all-star active.

A lot of the Clippers players from GSW v LAC series are now on this OKC roster.

 

This is a testament to how poorly Harden had performed in the playoffs throughout the years.

 

You really expect him to play amazing every single minute? No player can be at their best for a full 4 quarters for every game.

He aint quietly averaging 32 points on almost 50 percent shooting he is doing it with swagger

 

this isn't true overall. But people like to focus on one game here and there. some think also that he should always play a great game

 

Harden has been great as usual. His ppg in the Playoffs have gone up 3-4 years in a row as he gets older.

People like to nitpick at him, but he is the reason we get t the Playoffs every year
