The protest isn’t for James Blake. The protest is against the police for their excessive use of force— against black people in particular, but others also.
What if the protest is not about him but about out-of-control, poorly-trained cops who get literally triggered when they see melanin? That was an emotional shooting. You don't squeeze off 7 rounds into an unarmed suspect's torso at close range if you have any control of your emotions. (Talk to any experienced prosecutor about this -- they're all shaking their heads. The guy just completely lost his cool.) The problem is the cops were not peace officers in this case. They acted as judge, jury, and punishment, without even necessarily knowing this man's past. A guy disobeyed them, one of them got incredibly emotional, and then that cop tried to kill the guy with bullet purchased by the community's tax payers. We all know that is completely ****ed up and not the kind of country we want to live in. Nobody wants a friend, or a son, or a father treated that way by other humans let alone by public servants. If you don't have any friends or relatives who have even briefly disobeyed a cop, I feel kind of badly for you. I'm a very boring white guy, usually a very good citizen, and even I have made a couple of cops angry. I didn't deserve to die and happily did not, though I have citations and tickets, which were more or less deserved.
In the case of Trayvon Martin , it was proven by a jury that his shooter did not , in fact , act criminally. He was acquitted of murder because when he shot Martin , he was getting his head bashed on the concrete. Don't know why you guys want to make a martyr out of a guy who did something stupid .... Very poor comparison. This Blake guy didn't bash anyone's head into the concrete nor did he harm those cops in any way.

Yeah , all he had to do was comply .... We see this same scenario play out time and again where the individual don't comply , fight the cop and end up hurt or dead. Stupid people do stupid things
So now you are making disingenuous claims. This incident is about an entity that has the monopoly on violence abusing their power.
Statistically how many is that? Stats really don't help you bud. And the word unarmed is misleading. Failing to comply and then reaching for a weapon is unarmed but it's not the same as you or me getting pulled over and just shot for no reason. Yet again people of CFs are largely martyring a criminal and supporting largely violent riots. Just hand Trump the election already.
