I wasn't even commenting on that. I actually agree with you, Harden's efficiency dropoff from regular season to playoffs is higher than almost any other star, and it's a problem. I just don't like to see people using fg% to make that argument.
he’s drained because he’s the team’s top, and often only, creator, and he gets nothing easy...no other star creates like 90+% of their own offense Dort is making him work, and his 2nd best creator in this series has been Jeff Green or Austin Rivers which is tragic...the team offense falls squarely on his shoulders those 50 point games are huge flukes...Idk what angel decided to use up their blessings on Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray How is Harden overrated in the playoffs on here? This is the same board that was saying he played like trash in the postseason last year. This is the same board trashing him and blaming him for everything this year. If anything, he’s severely underrated by the media, and underrated and often disrespected on here. Nobody here is saying he’s the best postseason performer year in and year out. We all know his performance declines.
Eric Gordon’s green light is absolutely inexcusable...it’s astonishing that MDA stills allows him to continue his boneheaded play MDA must be the father on EG’s birth certificate
No dude, we never ever use FG% because it never ever matters. We always use TS% to stay aligned with front offices, it's just what everyone uses for scoring efficiency. Whether it increases or reduces, you can see it. You can't hide a reduction in TS%. People who use TS% are not occasionally using FG% to make their point lol. But I just want to make clear: there is no one on this planet using TS% to hide things because it can't hide anything. However, you can use FG% to distort the truth. Honestly if you just read up about it for literally 5 focused minutes, you wouldn't use FG% again. TS% is a useful stat, at the very least it makes you not have to look at several %'s (FG, 3PT, FT) to achieve the same purpose. You also have to understand that whether Harden gets 2 free points in the regular season or not, his numbers in the postseason are good enough to be on a superteam. Time to take it or leave it, no other GM/owner/coach shares this low a level of complaining about Harden. They just say he can't do it alone. Well who the F has done it alone since Dirk and then Hakeem before him? That's why you put Harden on the market, every super team is after him. Every single one, every single one of your favorite superstars who haven't won it yet will want Harden to join them.
it’s like they haven’t even thought of the scenario where the coach says “hey, Eric, stop shooting threes unless you’re wide open on the line from a pass”. speaking of which I know there’s a trend towards shooting super deep threes. But don’t you have to be good at that?? Is there any evidence EG was ever good at that?? We know he used to be good at shooting threes at the three point line. Why not get back to that?
they’ll never do that...here, he is encouraged to keep shooting because “those are good shots” or “those are the shots we want” in most other situations...playing as atrociously as he has would get u benched, but here he is guaranteed his 30 minutes and 12-14 shots or even more each game no matter what Eric Gordon is currently 7th in the playoffs in 3 point attempts...he’s shooting 21% beyond the arc...he has been horrible all season...it makes no sense
imho this is their thinking process 1 cant bench him now cause he will be harder to trade and 2 because you are not winning the whole thing without him anyway and the only chance is to give him more chances in order to perchance provoke his yearly 3pt shooting hotstreak...and he indeed is always due for a hot shooting month once a year...so basketball gods help us
that is likely the case...at some point, u gotta say enough is enough tho sometimes I wonder how some of his teammates feel...u can get thrown into MDA’s doghouse quick, but not EG...no matter how bad or how stupid he plays, he is guaranteed his usual minutes and shots Austin Rivers and McLemore can’t get more time even tho Eric Gordon craters the team’s level of play when he’s out there?
i bet you any money youd get elite offense and defense from rivers if theyd just give egos minutes to him but it seems we are left with 2 solutions 1 either gordon gets hot by accident 2 or injury gods bench him anyway its a good idea to sacrifice something to basketball gods before the game
Up 3-2 with Westbrook scoring 7 points in the series so far. How would the Lakers be doing if Davis scored 7 points?
harden is so great the standards for him is on a different stratosphere as Lebron it's expected of him to beat a playoff opponent by himself anything less then he's a failure not worthy of being compared to Lebron
Lu Dort is perhaps the greatest Harden defender EVER, up there with Kawhi. He earned his stripes. James had to kill him in a battle that almost killed him too, it's part of the hero's journey. He may have needed this brush with death to understand some things. Would have been ugly if he got knocked out, the cockroaches had their pitchforks out. Good luck to the Lakers. Danny Green and KCP are not going to be able to emulate OKC's defensive success on Harden. OKC limited him to "just" 29.7pts on 20.3 shots, 8 assists to 3 TO's for the series.
they do score or assist on the team’s final 13 points in game 7 and have the series winning block they also dominate “playoff Bron” in game 1 dropping 36 in an ass whooping of the Lakers u can hold this L
