GM in conjunction with another. company (starts with a V) and the govt. are in the process of delivering another 30,000 ventilators.
That's great, but this article was from five months ago. Surely those patients' cases have already come to their finality, whatever that may be. This happened all over the country. Not just in Michigan. This was, if I recall correctly (could be wrong),before Trump was pussyfooting around for a couple weeks on that executive order, and merely threatening to use it. What's not clear, however, is the number of people that actually didn't get vents. I read a lot of things on the internet. I read of a few firsthand accounts around the internet. Some on Reddit, some second hand. Surely, it was happening.
What I found offensive about this because it's so ignorant is the fact that if you are getting on a ventilator it means our health system has failed you, and it's likely too late to save your life unfortunately. Ventilators were in massive need at the very beginning when NY especially was ground zero. Now it should be no great victory that at least we have more machines to keep people alive a few days longer possibly. The victory should be in preventative measures, early treatments, and vaccine deployment strategy. The Great victory should be strategy to keep the workforce employed while measures are taken to get the virus under control. Trump is a massive failure here. MASSIVE. Literally everything that could go wrong went wrong, and worse. My god if he screws up the last remaining hope which is a proper vaccine deployment just imagine the catastrophe. A well functioning administration should be strategizing the deployment now... and most important thing will be messaging & education strategy so the American people have faith & knowledge that the vaccine just isn't another Hydroxycloroquine miracle cure placebo that will make kids grow horns.
It might have happened, but I haven't seen it on MSM and that would surely have been splash/breaking news.
What might have happened? Patients dying because they couldn't get a vent? I've worked in hospitals for my whole career. I don't know of any hospital staff member that is going to call the media with a story that so and so died because we didn't have a vent for them. That's basically an automatic way to sink your career. That's why you have to read the tea leaves here, and it's not reported in MSM. It was happening though.
It's a yes or no question. Let me copy and paste the question again for convenience: "...do you feel that Donald Trump's attitude and messaging had ANYTHING to do with several pockets of the population taking it lightly?" Please reply with a one word answer, either a "Yes" or a "No."
Here ya go. Texas hospitals are running out of drugs, beds, ventilators and even staff https://www.texastribune.org/2020/07/14/texas-hospitals-coronavirus/ You still haven't answered my 3 questions by the way.
Still not answering my questions. Why not? The death trend is not downward by the way. The 3 day average of deaths was 12 on May 25th, 19 on June 14th, and 210 on August 27th. How is that down? Add that question to the list.
Differ what? That 210 deaths a day isn't more than 12? Here ya go, answer this. Trump last night's lack of social distancing and masks of 1,500 seated guests spaced 6 inches apart for his rally. My question was how do you defend him doing this during a pandemic? Shouldn't he ensure taking precautions to stop the spread at the advice of experts? Shouldn't he be setting an example for everyone to follow? Do you think this is reckless and careless? Does this seem like a man who cares if people are put in harm's way just to hear him speak?
are we back to making assertions with no bases? What “experts”? Are they “experts” who issued the alleged “ reports” that rioters are predominantly white supremacists.
Are individuals not responsible for their own actions? Were these people temp. checked before admittance? Have you once criticized the large groups of rally goers where there are many people evidently not wearing masks?
I think it's a pretty defensible opinion that if the President hadn't actively opposed the actions recommended by Dr. Fauci and most of the medical community, wore a mask himself early and promoted their use, the national infection rate and death count would be lower. But ever the narcissist, Trump had to deny that there was an issue in Trump's America, with deadly results.
debatable whether it is interesting opinion. Let’s say it is. What it is not is an “expert”. Not does it even remotely discuss the question of What a Democrat president Would have done or where we would be in that scenario. This is an opinion piece saying media coverage has been unbalanced. Your assertion of what “experts” have said remains baseless. edit - the psychology of making making crap up is fascinating. Why do you feel compelled to cite non existent “experts” and “reports”.
