BLM is a political organization specifically pro Marxist that has no place in our schools. Teach English and let the families decide the extracurricular priorities

When I saw the thread title, I assumed they were terrorizing them for bad grammar.

What are your thoughts on the Pledge of Allegiance, or wearing clothing with the US flag on it?

So, if they were wearing a MAGA hat and had the same outcome, you'd be saying what?

Teachers have a responsibility to remain politically neutral. Not their damn place to indoctrinate.

Except Trump specifically calls for the indoctrination of children with "American Exceptionalism."

I don’t think it’s legal to wear political clothes during class time, i know it’s certainly not legal to talk about politics

I mostly agree here. Teachers do need to assert meaning and value in class, but generally teachers give the questions and the tools, not the answers to life.
In my field, a lot of teachers actually don't have special writing knowledge, so instead of teaching writing knowledge, they resort to writing assignments on "helpful" ideas, which generally are "progressive" concepts that they feel students should be believing.

I don't understand why she'd be afraid to go home. Was she doxxed or something? Seems as whiny as Rand Paul.

It was a shirt, it wasn't being taught, and it was in relation to the murder of George Floyd, not BLM as an organization.

I wouldn't wear a shirt like that to an online class or in-person class. I am careful to do my best to never let my personal political beliefs be known or in any way influence the children. It might be different it was a high school situation. Those are older students.
