He asked why it was a problem discussing the economics, I told him why, because that is a discussion to have, probably in it's own thread, this is not about that. DD
Like I guessed yesterday, there's no way Lebron would pass on the chance to get his scripted ring during a GSW tank year.
The certainty and breathlessness of your posts last night in response to people disagreeing the season was over is amusing. Apparently, money (and cooler heads) prevailed. Imagine that.
Smart move Well, I for one just assumed the season was going to be cancelled due to pessimism about pretty much everything these days. I didn't vote that way because I WANTED it to happen. I'm happy with the latest news!
Not all of the players make Lebron money, most are still paycheck to paycheck.....or close to it.... It makes sense to finish the season, but I expect much more talk about how Police are murdering and shooting black people - in disproportionate numbers....they need to use their platform and shine the light on the lack of justice. DD
I take back what I said. When people’s monies is on the line they won’t fight for anything. Having a 2 day protest will not equate to much. Good luck holding the owners more accountable Lebron if your going to play and still make them a ton of money. This is a bummer. But oh well.
I just don't think I can watch the NBA anymore with all this political grandstanding -- my boycott begins today!
LeBron felt that the NBA players, and the league as a whole, were thrust into a global political firestorm with that tweet, and that's what he took exception to. Especially with NBA players who were already landing in China at the time, to represent the league. If Morey had the foresight to recognize this outcome, with who knows how many millions of dollars lost, he almost certainly wouldn't have done what he did when and how he did it, regardless of his principles which are admirable. We can complain about the way LeBron communicated his frustration at that time, but his position was absolutely legitimate, in my view.
this fool either got 5lbs tungsten + cobalt in his head, or he like a hi-level professional coach to professional trolls
you need to factor the scrubs in the NBA in the equation Lu Dort is making $150K, I don't know how much per game in the bubble but not as much as LeBron. They want social justice as much as LeBron, but they have to pay rent. Also all the coaches, assistants etc. they don't get LeBron money. Announcers. there are lots of people dependent on games, camera men etc trainers, refs etc They can't survive without paychecks
I disagree this is the topic. And discussing finance falls in that discussion. [Poll] Bubble trouble - is the season over?
