yesterday was a pretty intense day. not sure why it's so surprising. just look at the numerous heated discussions all over this board in less than a 24 hrs timespan

I'm sure the guys with smaller contracts were not happy to just walk out. It's easy for guys like Lebron/Paul/Westbrook etc to walk out since they've made their money and have multiple endorsement deals.

Ultimately, every player has a short time frame to make money and considering that the NBA is losing money this season and likely next season, the NBA salaries will not be as high as previously thought, so not as much money to go around for the role players of the league.

Had they outright cancelled the playoffs and just gone home the damage to the NBA would have been incalculable. It would have been a loooong while before a lot of us watched games again. Since the NBA is a revenue sharing operation this would have caused all players to take a considerable long term paycut.

NBA players are already effectively in a celebrity bubble anyway - obviously emotions riding high but I wonder if any of them realized just how damaging these actions and far reaching would have really been.

Westbrook got more rest. Harden has more time to mentally repair. The players made their point, they're in control. We get to see MDA on the sidelines again. Tilman is still broke.

Do you think this social justice stuff is going to qualify ? ....

Kinda funny all the sudden Lebron wants to stud up over human rights , but he told Morey to STFU when others were in distress.

I'm all for change, and bringing about awareness by any means necessary (non-violently of course). But can someone please explain to me the logic behind LeBron willing to walk out on this season in a stand for equality, but wanting Daryl Morey fired over his tweet about Hong Kong??? I would LOVE if someone called him out on his obscenely hypocritical bullshit.
