I’m glad on the BBS as with the rest of the US, recent events have allowed us to know who the racists are. No turning back now. While I hope Clutch just bans the lot, at least I have the ignore function. I just wish real life had the same options.

The cop didn’t do the right thing. Idk what you’re smoking. He clearly mishandled the situation. So you’re okay with a cop killing Or shooting a person just because they feel threaten or don’t know what the other person would do. He could have tackled him from behind. He had other cops around to help him. They could have detained him. So many other steps before shooting a person. And shooting 7 times is okay with you. How about other incidents with white people with guns in their hands. Yet you see no cops shooting and you see cops trying to de-escalate the situation.
You clearly are the one that sees color in this. Since you don’t see anything wrong with what the cop did. Clearly a lot of cops need a lot more training because they can’t handle simple tactics that they have been trained for, it shows the ineptitude of some cops

Nobody did the right thing, that's the problem.

The cops should know that entire cities will burn if they shoot anyone with black skin during this political climate.

What are these cops going to get? From the state of Wisconsin, you're looking at attempted murder with intent to kill.

You know what I would've done as a cop in that situation? Not even respond to the call. Leave.

I might get fired? Okay, still better than risking the entire country into another race issue/debate/war situation on behalf of my dumbass not thinking about consequences.

Maybe even during the arrest, if the guy successfully fought me off, I'd run and duck for cover instead of shoot him before he gets something out of the car. Why? Because again, I wouldn't be going to jail over this guy, and risking the damn country over it.

Stop sticking up for a cop when the cops should understand the political climate right now. They're not helping the situation, they should just stop responding, stop everything, and wait for the elections to be over.

the left lies more than right. I grew up in the hood my entire life for years I was told to be afraid of white cops. But when I look back now I had more to worry about if I was in the wrong side of town late at night wearing the wrong colors cause I coulda lost my life for real, and not by no cop

 

Why do people keep talking about “ratings” like that’s a meaningful barometer for how popular league is?

Wait for the elections to be over? What happens if there is no change in office?
Law enforcement should not respond?
Who called them out? Probably someone needing help; right? If someone can’t or won’t follow directions in a life-threatening situation what are they supposed to do? (Remember the officer’s family don’t get another family member because they were killed in the line of duty —> they are still dead).

 

I have mixed feelings about it.... but at the end of the day if it helps the cause and put some real pressure on the right people to make the right changes, including BETTER TRAINING FOR LAW ENFORCEMENTS NATIONWIDE, then so be it.

You really didn't make a statement about what the "left" lies about. You madea vague platatudic statement based on your narrow sliver of experience.

 

Some posters should stand trial before a ban if it's not too serious, something the victims of police brutality never got.

 

No offense, but you shouldn’t be speaking about what cops should or shouldn’t do. Do you really think in life or death situations you are going to make your decisions about what your actions will do in a political climate?

The officers have family too and only one person made a mistake in this situation.
