SOB. Yes, but to be fair I was being hypothetical and trying to narrow down to a handful of names to play long term.

I am still bewildered at valuations and really can't get that entrenched way of thinking out of my brain. Too many years of valuations, discounted cash flows, etc.

Back to BIGC, I would guess that post lock up the price will drop if they followed the standard IPO MO of small float, etc.

Oh, I'm not blaming you. I was just wondering if you got in. It's not like I got into it. lol. I'm similar to you. I'm looking more into companies that will be around 5-10 years from now, but at least in about 3 or 4 cases, I made exceptions and went with companies that looked like they could appreciate big within a year or so (if not a week!). There are a lot of stocks I've passed up on simply it just looked like a FOMO trade, and I just abided by my "when in doubt, don't buy" philosophy.

Congrat$. Regret not getting in on this. Been eying this for a long time because of tableau. I think the SNOW IPO may have helped as well, they are an early investor. Have you taken a look at HUBS? Seems like the alternative choice for smaller companies now; heard from friends that they found HUBS core product easier to use for non-IT people, but that's anecdotal.

‘Better Yield on 5nm than 7nm’: TSMC Update on Defect Rates for N5 by Dr. Ian Cutress

One of the key metrics on how well a semiconductor process is developing is looking at its quantitative chip yield – or rather, its defect density. A manufacturing process that has fewer defects per given unit area will produce more known good silicon than one that has more defects, and the goal of any foundry process is to minimize that defect rate over time. This will give the customers better throughput when making orders, and the foundry aims to balance that with the cost of improving the manufacturing process.

The measure used for defect density is the number of defects per square centimeter. Anything below 0.5/cm2 is usually a good metric, and we’ve seen TSMC pull some really interesting numbers, such as 0.09 defects per square centimetre on its N7 process node only three quarters after high volume manufacturing started, as was announced in November at the VLSI Symposium 2019. As it stands, the defect rate of a new process node is often compared to what the defect rate was for the previous node at the same time in development. As a result, we got this graph from TSMC’s Technology Symposium this week:

As it stands, the current N5 process from TSMC has a lower defect density than N7 did at the same time in its development cycle. TSMC. This slide from TSMC was showcased near the start of the event, and a more detailed graph was given later in the day:

This plot is linear, rather than the logarithmic curve of the first plot. This means that TSMC’s N5 process currently sits around 0.10 to 0.11 defects per square centimeter, and the company expects to go below 0.10 as high volume manufacturing ramps into next quarter.

Part of what makes 5nm yield slightly better is perhaps down to the increasing use of Extreme UltraViolet (EUV) technology, which reduces the total number of manufacturing steps. Each step is a potential chance to decrease yield, so by replacing 4 steps of DUV for 1 step of EUV, it eliminates some of that defect rate.

TSMC’s first 5nm process, called N5, is currently in high volume production. The first products built on N5 are expected to be smartphone processors for handsets due later this year.

Marvell talks about TSMC’s 5nm process
How is 5 more than 7?

...Marvell are actually releasing a set of very interesting numbers for 5nm and better yet it appears to be about as close to the real world as you can ask for without specific product details. Since their ASIC products are designed for customers, Marvell can’t really talk directly about them. As you can see from the two charts below, they can talk about their IP blocks and that gets you most of the way there...

Sinovac is testing out a coronavirus vaccine in China on volunteers and healthcare workers. It trades under the symbol SVA on NASDAQ.

Trading has been halted for. ever. (over a year) Months ago I put it on my watch list when I thought it was among one or two Chinese companies that were "close" to a vaccine. But when I looked to see if it was traded, it was halted for trading and apparently still is. CNBC mentioned a boardroom battle. This article explains the internal battle (crazy story worth a read) :

Have you heard anything about TRNE (SPAC merging with the company Desktop Metal)? It just got a mention on CNBC. It's an industrial 3D-printing house that has big-name investors and customers (supposedly Toyota, Ford, GM, etc.). I haven't looked into how much they're selling and to whom, but the fact they're already producing is always a plus when it comes to these SPAC mergers. lol! I don't know how much of a gamble this is :

Never heard of it, but looks very promising. If it stays at current price I may pick up some, if it jumps I'll stay out, too many to juggle. This is all gambling, just a matter of likelihood vs reward haha.

Meyer left Disney to run a large / powerful co, which TikTok USA was, not a division head of a tech giant.

from this can infer that a deal is coming soon. one ccan i could this "after-marke"t news from yesterday be the reason that MSFT is popping pre-market today ?

Man, on MSFT, whoever got the options this morning at ~0.48-0.70 killed it, looks like people exited at ~5.00-7.50.... For the $225 call shortly after open.

I've been trying XOM for easy puts, it's worked so far ... W/ DJIA and other factors all hitting could go a bit more, not nearly as exciting with what MSFT and others did, and w/ Friday approaching movement might slow.
