Well, this thread has been irrelevant after Game 3. The racial unrest kind of put this thread back on CF radar. And then the Greek-Swede pair hijacked it.
After hearing more reporting, it seems like the Bucks just wanted to forfeit their game in protest of Jacob Blake's shooting and they didn't think there would be this domino effect. I don't remember where I heard this, but they were willing to take a loss against the Magic, but the Magic decided to also boycott and from there everyone joined.
I think it would have looked really bad if every other team didn't also boycott their games. Gotta practice what you preach, especially since the NBA has been the most vocal about the BLM movement. Imagine the other teams not boycotting. Headlines would be like "Does LeBron James not care about the BLM movement?" or "James Harden and Kawhi Leonard care more about playing basketball than about the BLM movement!" or some other clickbait title.
