I remember I used to watch him run around trying to get in the middle of a tornado in his tank of a vehicle, the Dominator, on that storm chasers show on Discovery, I think. Those guys are nuts. You've got to have a certain level of stupid to be doing some of the stuff they do, but then what they do in a lot of cases is helpful, too.

Unless it strengthened, the last I saw, it was just barely below at 150 mph sustained. Crazy. Some poor towns on the Louisiana coast are about to get leveled.

It's right on the border now of cat 5 probably will decrease a bit as it hits shallow water/ nightfall -- it's also out of time obviously -- totally crazy that it's peaking right before coming ashore.

Trump wants to use FEMA disaster funds for unemployment
Scott Waldman, E&E News reporterPublished: Monday, August 10, 2020
President Trump made plans Saturday to help pay for a new round of unemployment benefits by siphoning money from Federal Emergency Management Agency disaster funds.

The move — one of several pandemic-related steps Trump took over the weekend — comes amid one of the busiest hurricane seasons in recent memory.

Looks like it’s gonna miss us. A little wind tonight a little rain on Friday from what I gather. There’s probably people in this thread way more capable than I to answer your question with more detail.

Its amazing you came out the way you did, from where you did. Would you consider yourself the black sheep?

He got that idea from Francis Underwood in House of Cards. His hurricane missed the East coast.

Hard to tell, but supposedly less than 40 knot winds. The surge is the biggest threat on the coast, but nothing like in Louisiana. It's not windy yet here. If this thing took a slight western turn we'd be screwed though, since Houstonians didn't evacuate.

I bet you can survive the storm surge. But, you might need a surf board.

The other part of that is water 5 ft high in a storm surge can take out concrete masonry walls. 9 ft high can wash houses away
