You're right about this, I won't disagree. It's absolutely natural human nature to be biased toward their own personal experiences.

Somewhat related example for me and this general topic -- I'm over 40 so I have actually been pulled over or arrested by cops 6 different times in my life. All of those, except one, were because of traffic violations. But one of those traffic violations resulted in me being arrested, handcuffed, put in the back of the cop's car, and taken to the City jail. (Because I had a previous warrant for my arrest due to unpaid tickets.)

So I've had to deal with cops several times in my life. Even with that being the case, I still like cops in general and I like seeing them around. Because all 6 of those times, I was actually doing what they got me for... so how can I complain about that.

I’m proud of these teams for taking a stand. Years from now, nobody will care who won these games, but everyone will remember the day an entire professional sports league stood united against racism and boycotted playoff games in response.

Also, watching the NBA is entertainment for those of us on this forum. If you are upset because you can’t watch any NBA basketball today, I suggest you reexamine your priorities.

    Why are you so defensive?
His case was disgusting, Giannis only was awarded a citizenship because he was good at basketball and his family got a citizenship just because that single fact.

This would be considered a right-wing view in the US.

"I love you black athletes for my entertainment but if you speak out on political/social issues, I'm out! I'm done!"

    LOL OK bye...

Bunch of Laura Ingraham's on here: "Shut up and dribble!"

These guys are human too, they have families. They can and should speak out on things that matter to them.

You're tired of them making statements, they're tired of living in fear, tired of their people being killed.
    Could be their mom/dad, grandma/grandpa, brother/sister, aunt/uncle, son/daughter, niece/nephew.

but but but black on black crime!
but but but statistically more whites are killed [by cops]!
    but but but don't resist!

No. It’s a human being thing.

Apparently America needs a master class in not what to do when a cop is pointing a gun at you.

Cops will get off free because they did nothing wrong.

It can happen that quick and these are the videos officers are shown in training. If you don’t comply you are getting shot. Period

another example that’s used in training.
Allowing a fugitive to grab something from their car without shooting first.

Not to punish the Bucks or anything, but since the Magic players (seemingly?) weren't made aware of the boycott by the Bucks players, shouldn't this count as a forfeiture?

I mean, I really truly support them speaking out for civil rights. I don't think that should be questioned.

What I wonder is who are they boycotting, what are they fighting against. I mean, NBA has been very gracious as far as I can tell.

If you want more black owners, and if that's what you're demanding (I suppose that's possible), like what would the negotiations for that look like?

This is just all kinds of confusing to me.

Every game 5 scheduled today has been postponed. They will be rescheduled and played at a later date.

So what does this mean going forward? Do they boycott the next game if nothing happens? Is the playoffs going to get shut down?

    Spot on!
As a white person I can't imagine how it feels to be on the receiving end of racism. I witnessed racism at a very young age though, here in Sweden I had a colored friend who had a caribbean mother and a swedish father and all our youth people were throwing racial slurs at him. And the funny thing was once when one of these racist kids got in trouble for being a racist he had the audacity to use my friend as an example to how he wasn't racist, obviously forgetting about how he bullied him for his skincolor for years. So tired of this **** and I am not even black, I can't imagine how fed up some of these NBA players and colored americans are.

They are fighting against racial injustice and the use of excessive force against African Americans from police officers across America. It has nothing to do with the NBA.

So it's okay to screw over someone who has been supporting the fight?

This is just more evidence people are doing things without actually figuring out a list of demands that makes sense.

This stuff happens all the time. Here’s some video evidence that shows why Blake’s officers will not spend a day in jail.

These killings happen all the time. They just have to happen to African Americans to make the news or go viral. That’s the political landscape we are in.

    Blake left cops one option.
