all non white people that understand and have empathy about certain things are true agree. those that have no idea what people of color go through don't. of course they don't bc they have no idea what it feels like just bc you're asian and you said you don't care, that's just you.
I think there should be some consequence, as in a weird way if there are no consequences it lessens the impact of a boycott. But if the entire league is doing it, my guess is they'll just delay the games. I guess there's a chance that the NBA just doesn't finish the season too.
This will solve nothing and I'll tell you why...Because not a single person has or will ever mention the actual reason why this man got shot..BECAUSE HE RESISTED ARREST
You sound so mad, why? I, or anyone else, can have an opinion on reacting or protests. They have the physical right to boycott, just like Kaepernick had the right to kneel. I've said that to acquaintences from the beginning when Kaep did it. But I also said I have the right to not care about what they're protesting. You can't force me to care, and you should not expect everyone to care.
By giving them the L , the league would actually be honouring and highlighting the protest and their gesture. A protest without any consequence is of much lesser importance. I like how the boycotted without any leaks to the press and forewarning.
the issue is that white people get gunned down all the time for doing stupid **** as well. This isn’t a black person issue(Blake shooting). This is what non compliance does.
That's great, I think he is one hell of a person for speaking up for people who are going through the same suffering as he went through. I read an article years ago about Giannis coach and how frustrated he was about the fact that Giannis went without a citizenship and passport for all those years and only got his citizenship due to being great at basketball. That is just sad. Greece is a lovely country, I have been there several times and based on your name I guess you have greek heritage. Don't get me wrong, I have met the most lovely greek people and I have good friends I like a lot who are greek but Greece also has an obvious problem with racism and that some are very conservative. Just look at the Golden Dawn party in Greece and how many horror stories regarding immigrants we've been hearing of these last years. And again, I know there's only a small percentage of the greek society who are responsible for the racism and I don't belive for one second that Greece as a country should get a bad rep for it but personally I find Giannis life story to be disturbing.
And that he was an alleged chomo. Candace Owens was right when said that we as black people tend to uplift or make heroes out of the worst in our community. Derek chauvin wasn’t being uplifted by white folk. But we as black people love to glorify the pookie and ray ray types. It’s gotta stop
No, it is as it should be. You have no idea how many illegal immigrants we are flooded with. If like the US we just handed out citizensips to everyone who was born here then there would be literally MILLIONS of illegals from all over Africa and Asia flooding. What should change is that a child who has lived lets say 10 years here and is fluent in the language and has finished education here he should be able to be granted that. I am in favour of that and it is a real problem that should be dealt with. But just by being born absolutely not.
Where did I claim that Jewish people are not suffering due to Xenophobhia? It was the the person I replied who tried to use his jewish friend as a reason to why people should not complain.
I don't really care. If the games are on I might watch. If they aren't obviously I won't. I went several years without seeing Rockets/Astros games because of the tv deal disaster. I can live without them. I watch to be entertained. Their political views mean nothing to me. It has no effect on whether I watch or not just like movies. If they don't want to be my source of entertainment I will find it elsewhere. We also cancelled our Rockets season tickets. It was so sweet getting a refund from Tillman because of covid19. Has nothing to do with the politics. Just don't enjoy going to the games and the money is just not worth it.
I am not mad, I just get provoked when lame and uneducated people think they have the right to tell black people what they should consider to be racist and not. I don't care what you think or not unless you don't yourself the right to judge how other people respond to racism and discrimination.
To give supporters of BLM credit, this was going to be here as soon as phones started having cameras that can record video -- among many other horrible things that came from smartphones that have cameras attached to it... Nobody believed this was real, nobody believed that cops were doing crazy things. But BLM has to somehow find a list of demands that make sense and establish a clear position. Otherwise, there's absolutely no end to this. Cops will not stop pulling triggers. This part should be obvious. Again, people need to stop being emotional and come to their senses to figure out how this can actually deescalate.
As a foreign Bucks fan , I can say that I have always found from speaking to other fans that Milwaukee and Wisconsin is a pretty racistic place. Milwaukee is one of the most segregated cities in the world. I remember that years ago, John Henson was locked outside and he got the police called on him just because he, a BLACK , went to go buy some bling from a high end shop in the suburbs there. The police was questioning him then like where did he got his car and almost arrested im and he had to call the FO. Then there is what happened ot Sterling Brown which is absolutely attrocious. So it is good that this happened now, from them. I am sure that most Bucks fans will be very mad at it but it is a powerful gesture.
Dude, Giannis went without a citizenship and was considered illegal in Greece until the NBA draft since greek basketball wanted him to be a part of their national team. Otherwise he would be labelled a nigerian. Don't be lame. Again, I have very good greek friends and I have been in Greece several times and I love the country as a tourist but no one can claim that Giannis case of citizenship wasn't messed up.
Yes. As he should. His parents were illegal immigrants that didn't have even a green card and hadn't gone through the procedure to obtain a citizenship. The law of the state as does MOST countries in the world says that you have to either have blood or married or acquire a citizenship. Being born isn't enough. Also by Nigerian law he, if he wasn't a bball player, wouldn't get a citizenship either. Since Nigeria not only require blood but also to be born there.
